Hello,

We sincerely apologize again for the problems caused in response to Wednesday’s update. We do understand that many characters were rolled back due to actions beyond their control along with those that took direct advantage of the situation. We also understand that many other players that were not rolled back were also affected in indirect ways. This weekend we will be offering double experience to all players. This will require us to take down the servers early tomorrow morning and they should be up and offering the modified experience at 9am PST. This event will run until Monday morning at 10am PST. Once again please accept our apologies for any interruptions this has caused in your playtime.

She confirmed that the double exp will stack with the exp potions and will apply to MM (though the potions do not apply to MM, never have) By tommorrow she means Saturday January 21, 2006

So if we use our Lesson of the Devoted then we'll get 2X by 2X XP?

Yes that is exactly what she meant when she said the double experience will stack with the exp potions.

this is so incredibly lame.

instead of reimbursing the dozens/hundreds of people who lost raid loot and massive amounts of plat, they offer 2x exp.

It's not going to replace lost items or PP but at least they are making af effert.

I won't be able to play this weekend but I wasn't rolled back so nothing lost nothing gained.

fhrugby,
Now would I marry her if she wasn't?
(But you can borrow her for the weekend if you can find a babysitter for our son)

Don't want to hijack this thread, but since there will double exp this weeken, where is the best place for a 55 druid to solo? I don't have last 3 expansions (yet).

You know, all the sudden I may get my 58 ranger out of 50's hell and get my druid and shammy half way through it. A crappy weather weekend doesn't look so bad now! :-)

Kytherea,

How do we contact CS to reimburse lost epic pieces? Every time I try, my option says I must petition in game. Petitioning in game gets a canned response.

What are the steps I should take to get back a lost epic item as you said they are reimbursing those?

Thanks,

You can contact CS one of two ways...either by petition or by email. You can send email by using the webmail form located at http://www.station.sony.com/email.

I feel your pain Kyth, but I am not going to bother as I truely do not believe I would get satisfaction from it. I still think the best answer would be to roll back the rollbacks and destroy the illigitimate items from the game. I dont expect it to happen. I dont expect Sony to really care, and I feel for you who they left swinging in the wind so to say.

I now since I feel they are not going to really do any thing to make this right encourage all to Boycott the new expansion and not purchase it as the only recourse we have open to us is with our wallets..

Further I expect my comments here in this post to be edited so I am going to copy them and post them in other forums about EQ . and I do feel that my word will get out some how....

Thank you for your time...

I am really going to try to get all my friends I know in Game to Boycott the new expansion, I know those of you who dont really care will say great more room for me to get what I want and all, but is this truely what you want? Do you expect Sony to pony up and make amends for this mess with oh here you go a few crumbs of Double Experience , now get lost...

Sony needs to know we the PAYING public will not be trod upon and if we do not all stick together then we will keep rolling over for what ever they want to do to us.

We had a raido DJ here in my area a number of years ago ask people to send 20 dollars to the radio station, he did not say what for but it was a station that ran a lot of contests. They raised over 20,000 Dollars and then gave it to charity. Come to find out ,he bet his Boss he could get people to do it just because he asked them too.

This is the same thing, Sony knows you will not all leave and the few who do wont hurt them in any way, and those who do not but the new expansion now will get it later, but if we all could hold off for a few months say 6 then it would send a message to Sony they could not refute.

Any want to back me up here?

no, i am not supporting a boycott, all this 'protest' and posturing is getting totally boring. This is a GAME, folks, lighten up, s**t happens. I'm just glad the game is as good as it is, and that SONY keeps providing what it does.

I personally will be revelling in double double experience this weekend, digging out old toons and working heck out of the regular ones.

have a nice day

So you would rather that SOE did nothing about it?

They are making an effort regardless of how half-a[/sm]ssed it may seem at least it is something. At least give them credit for that.

Hm.. cheaters got punished and i get double exp this weekend.. Nope, don't care if you lost a day. I'm sure they're doing the best they can to help the people get what they lost. If people boycotted the expansions, I think you'd have a better chance of geting EQ one step closer to being shut down then geting.. your... piece of mind? I'm sorry, but I like EQ a LOT more then you.

You need to read some of the other threads about the people getting rolled back. It wasnt primarily the people who interacted with the beta merchants who got rolled back...it was anyone who later traded/ bought/ sold to anyone who was an original beta trader. And then anyone who intercated with them...and anyone who interacted with them..etc etc

As a case in point, my own situation: My bazaar mule was in seller mode wed night, a variety of people bought goods from him, all things that had been won as loot over the previous few weeks, nothing that had been gotten since the patch. On thursday a guildie who hadnt been on for a few days logged back on in NC, he wanted a couple of the Int caster armor pieces I had on the trader...they had been looted in undershore a week ago.

So trader put the items into my shared bank, my main picked up the items, ported over and ran to guilie in nc and gave g\him the items. Guildie proceeded to exp in NC the rest of the afternoon.

Thurs evening my nazaar mule, my main and guildie all got rolled back

It seems that someone tainted used pp to buy something from my bazaar mule, tainting the mule, which tainted my main, which tainted my guildie, even tho he had never left NC for the last two weeks.

Yes, soe certainly did a good job there, didnt they?

As far as the double exp weekend goes, did you know that some people were rolled back to naked toons, with no corpses in game to loot? And did you know that some of those people still dont have their gear back? The double exp weekend is just going to do them worlds of good.

The original problem was bad, waht soe did to try and fix the problem turned into a disaster.

Thats not even touching on the opportunities for real cheats that soe created with their silly two days of rollbacks. tell the cheats exactly how to make sure a toon was going to be rolled back....greeeaaaat move. Im sure that all of the items that cheats duplicated that way wont hurt the economy at all.

Punish people who weent even remotely connected with the original mistake and create huge cheating holes, yep sounds just fine.

Best news in this patch is that they are finished with the roll backs.

3 days is too long to keep jacking around with toons. And the BS about 1% yeah right. I think they should give one weekend of double exp for each day they screwed up make it 3 weekends.

I was working the day the beta merchants were around and have so far been unaffected. I feel for those caught up in this innocent or not. My comment is a bit off topic though. I have had my GM tradeskill book task poof on me 2 times now when I was 90% done with it. You know the one with 120 kills of this, 80 collected items of that, etc. My response when I petitioned both times was, sorry we have no way of going back and getting your task back for you. Funny then, that SOE is somehow able to selectively rollback chars who bought from the merchants, bought from the peeps who bought from the merchants, bought from the peeps who bought from the peeps who bought from the peeps who bought from the merchants, ad nauseum. When I petitioned I could have cared less if I lost the esp/faction from 1 or 2 creator missions, that damn task has taken me weeks each time to get close to completion.

I do not know if I accidentily deleted it or if as mentioned on some other threads that task leader took me out a second before I took myself out and I lost the GM task instead of the one I wanted to get out of.

See see prior post, this does work with mm, they just increasing xp in general, prolly take too long to code each zone anyway, so just doin a blanket code for the whole game!

This is true. SoE could easily say "People cheated, and everyone who got rolled back stays rolled back. That's all we're doing about it." and leave it at that. Personally, I'm surprised they didn't.
I also suspect the possibility that some people may be taking advantage of the rollback to complain about losing things they never had. Of course, that's just speculation, but I wouldn't put it past some people.
Instead of just doing the rollback and ignoring everyone, they're offering DOUBLE XP TO EVERYONE. For TWO DAYS.

And I say AMEN!! And woot, I just told my husband he has lost me for the weekend :D
