Think people will have a lot to tell this Monday, and I think we'll get a lot of DING messages!

Thu: Did two quick monster missions in Freeport, never done them before. Nice to be a pirate and slaughter the guards! The boots rotted two times as nobody had the right class to use them. Dinged 41. Got my new spells, finally spiritual light, yay! Smiley: yippee Got my tailoring up from 54 to 76 with woven mandrake and picnic baskets.

Fri+Sat: No EQ for me, girlfriend faction all the way.

Sun: Finally some double experience. My friends were busy, so I kited Hill Giants in Rathe for my cultural expert task for about an hour. Took a break and continued at night, watched the simulcast of Superbowl semi finals. GO SEATTLE!!! Nearly dinged 42, only 4% left! Smiley: grin

I was on TV!! Did you all see me?

Went to a title boxing match Friday night. The fight was aired live by ESPN and we had ringside seats. I saw me. Smiley: grin After the fight we hit the casino and WON then lost then WON then lost.

Saturday in one of my more irrational, yet satisfying, moments I jumped ship on the guild and server I'd been playing on. I've vowed "no more guilds" and hubby and I have started a sweet little pair of toons on Stromm for some weekend entertainment. We went with BL and Druid for pure duoing purposes.

Stromm is an interesting server - very young. Some might argue it was a bad pick as it was the only server NOT getting double xp this weekend, but I think it will be okay. Smiley: smile

Why's Stromm excluded from the xp bonus? Did they not pop the beta vendors there?

MM's, more MM's.. whole bunch of boring, boring MM's. Got a couple levels (58-61) on the Shadowknight and am three missions away from my horse now.

Sooooo sick of MM's. Never again will I be seen in HHK. The good news how ever is I am at 45 defensive AA's and I have my my Holy Steed! I only pushed 1 level so I could get Conviction and Wanushi (spelling?). Moving on to re-enjoy the game. GOODBYE MONSTER MISSIONS!! *maniacal laughter*

just mad this WE...

first time I soloed Krenshin with my 11 Ogre Shammie. was down to 20% HP and OOM, but made it :-) defense is still only 41 though...:-/

else, mindnumbing MM's. if it wasn't for the "emote wars" with guildies, would have been worse. so at least we had a good laugh once in a while. also, I have to admit, that the HHK one is not as bad as floating around as a feckin fairy...

thus, ping 100 and ding 65... maxxed my crit AA's and now have spell casting subtlety 3 Smiley: yippee

off to ping a bit more tonight ;)

Are you sure there was no double xp on Stromm? Last night I solo'd my mage from 47 to 50 in Sol B and the DL. The xp seemed to be flowing very fast to me.

Did HHK MM's with my main and NEK MM's with my alt.

I never want to do them again. The NEK Mission isn't all that bad but the High Hold Keep mission makes me want to commit Harry Carrey.

Getting 40% exp at level 56 was just too much to pass up so I did about 4 of them over the weekend.

I am so glad the double exp thing is over.

No, not sure - perhaps spreading rumors based on the ooc-ing I was hearing and the amount of xp I was getting. Smiley: grin

The talk was about something ******** up on Friday night and SOE then had to turn off the 2xXP only on Stromm??? I was in and out between about 6 and 9 EST last night and am pretty sure the xp I was getting wasn't doubled.

I wasn't able to get online until late Sunday evening (midnight EST) and saw one ooc that said Stromm wasn't getting the double xp. Figured it was just my luck, and headed out to Sol B to keep on harassing the kobolds. However, I blazed through the rest of level 47, used the double xp vet reward and two passes through the bat caves had me ding 48. Then I headed to the DL and killed db for an hour or so and when I logged off I had made it to level 50.

Now it was my first time soloing in the DL so I'm not sure how the xp usually goes there. My past 3 or 4 sessions have been spent in Sol B and I noticed a definite increase in the xp last night.

If it was aired live AND you were there how exactly did you see yourself? I'm not flaming, just curious.

Edit: I supposed you Tivo'ed it or something.

stromm had a server crash on sat night. when the server came back up, it reverted to the default code, ie reg xp. it wasn't fixed till Sunday evening. so as of now, stromm has double xp, but didn't for most of the weekend. lucky us.

Yes, it was recorded on my computer. But, you can also see the program on the big screens at the event.

Saturday I dinged level 70 on my rogue and promptly went to Bazaar and bought 700 radiant crystals to add to the 330 I had already and bought my self a Light Wieght Parrying Dagger and the Murky Iolite Shard so now I have a 17 damage and 18 delay piercer in my primary. Lots of things are going to die much faster now.

Sunday I got my 300th AA on the above mentioned Rogue.

Watched my bobbin while the wife went out with friends (your faction with Wife has gone up), but when she was drooling in front of the DVD player, I was drooling in front of the laptop. Got the Mage from 45 to 49 over the whole weekend, yet still managed to get the new-house-blues chores done. That, and watch the Steelers dominate the Broncos, and the Panthers take a devastating hit with the loss of their QB, allowing the Seahawks to finish the job. Should be a great Superbowl, just gotta see what the spread will be and how much I can put down!

Just a comment and question on the MM weekend.

Awhile back I asked the question here about "your EQ goals". Hands down "having fun" was the number one answer.

So here in this thread are a half dozen posts or more lamenting on the boring monontomous MM weekend that many of you partook in. Are they fun?

Makes me wonder:

Is it an investment? Hoping that giving up one weekend of 'fun' EQ time will progress you to a place in the game where you can have even 'more' or 'better' fun?

and secondly:

Do you think that you would have had 'fun' or a better quality fun' in EQ gaining the same 3/4 levels or couple dozen AA's by doing it in a more traditional fashion. If so, do you take into account that 'lost' fun when deciding if the time invested in MM's is worth it?

It all seems funny. People do and say such different things.

Good point, to answer your question for me. This weekend was a memroable exp. I have only done to MM LV things right after I hit 50 I mm the first 6 AAs in one evening then this weekend

In my case, it had been a goal/dream of mine since character creation to get my Shadowknight's steed. While the actual "running around and killing goblins" part might get a bit tedious, knowing that I'm fulfilling a 61-level old goal is enjoyable in its own way. This weekend presented a truely unique chance to meet my goal within a span of days rather than weeks or months so the ends is worth the means.

Excellent point!

I used this weekend as a push for as much exp as I could get. It started of as fun but quickly eroded into a chore. My goal was to get to 60 (from 56.5) and I only made it into 57 with an AA point. This is a huge accomplishment but pales in comparison to some people who literaly didn't sleep much at all this weekend. It was not fun.

Therefore I ended up turing the game off and starting a toon on EQ2. Also played my PS2 and Need for Speed: Underground for a bit.

I'll go back to eq1 when things get back to normal and the urge for easy xp resides. It was fun but kinda felt like cheating in a way...

Well, I can't do MM's. Mindless for the most part.

I mean it is still wash rinse repeat if you are sitting at a camp but I can try different approaches with MY character.

I also spent time with RL friends and got to enjoy my time online, instead of blaze 20, sit 20.......

Not that I won't say the XP is probably insane, I'm just not in that kind of rush.

Spent time in Dulak's, Torgirian Mines and a few other spaces basically trying to see how big a kill radius we could keep with 2 two boxes and another lower level single boxer.

I think others answered it well by saying if there is one specific goal you have and this weekend offered a chance to reach that goal in a fraction of the time, maybe it is worth it.

In other cases, I know some people gave up trying to find a regular group and went to the MMs because everyone was there and MMs were better than sitting around PoK, or playing no EQ at all.

In my case, I have no specific goals, so I was able to just poke around, clean the guild bank, and visit codecay for the first time since I burned out on the MMs after about 4 of them. Though, the MMs I did participate in were fun since I had the pleasure of grouping with MentalFrog. It's always fun when our paths cross. Smiley: smile

Finally Sunday evening I joined a regular PoV outer group. That was fun. We even got practice avoiding trains as the PoV inner group fell apart a few times. Smiley: wink
