Hello,
Going out of town for 4 days for work and wondering if I can install and run at least Luclin on a lap top. If so, what spec would I need to have on it.
I will also be using a wireless internet connection and I am curious to see how it will run.

Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks !

What laptop do you have?

I've run it very minimally on a P3 1ghz with 512 MB of ram...didn't run very well, but it ran.

Currently I use my P4M 1.7 ghz with 1gig of ram and 128 mb video card, seems to run it OK, but still not well.

Post your laptop specs it will help :)

I have a IBM Thinkpad with similar stats as Frakk except for the video which is either 32 or 64mb. Can't remember as it is my work laptop and I don't have it next to me atm. In any case I installed all the expansions on it but had to play with the display settings for it to run. Iirc, when you are about to log in, you can hit the options button and turn off the new graphics. Once in the actual game, alt+o and then tweak the display settings. When I log into my laptop later on, I'll check the correct procedure and the setttings and let you know.

Also in the Lavishsoft page, I seem to recall some threads about how to improve the performance. Specifically in the WinEQ2 forum. Now before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not advertising anything. Since some people have issues with boxing and performance, I found and used the information there and have been able to play EQ while on the road.

Hope this helps,
Dart

I have a similiar laptop as well, just remember to go into options and adjust the advanced settings in game (there are more choices than in video options at start). Turn advanced lighting on, it goes faster with it on, and make sure shadows are off. You may have to play with all the choices a bit, but eventually I got it playable after alot of trial and error.
Mine has mobility radeon 9000 with 32 mb video ram, 512 System RAm, 1.5 P3 processor. I play with current expansions up to date and occasionly slow down in laggy areas.

I play with a IBM thinkpad T40, 1.5Ghz, 1GB Ram, 32mb Video.

Everything works fine, except all I have to do is turn of spell effects, except mine. I don't even get lag In POK.

I ran it on my wifes P4 2.8 with 512mb RAM and a crappy video card which uses portion of the systems RAM for graphics.

As ling as I turn down all the graphical prefrences and use oldschool models it runs decently, but not great.

I play at times on my laptop which is woefully underpowered. Some advice I can give...turn down graphics options as much as possible. Turn off all but the most necessary player models (frogs, vah shir/horses, etc can be left on) and also consider turning sound off altogether - from the .ini file. This will help performance a lot.

I perfer my desktop, personally.. much easier to use setup wise.

Still, my laptop is:
Athlon 64 (@3.2ghz), 1gig RAM, Windows XP, 256MB (or 512?) dedicated video. (Yes, the Sleeper Gated when it conned my laptop)

It runs EQ at any setting just fine.. just.. one strange thing about it. Its stats a bit better than my desktop's (hey, its newer), but it seems to load EQ slower than the desktop. I hardly ever restart either, so that's a consistentcy.. so not sure what's up with it.

I travel a few times a month and am able to play on a Thinkpad R50 (pentium M, 1400Mhz, 512MB, ATI Radeon Mobility 7500) and with some of the graphics options turned down as mentioned above it works great.

I also have pixel shaders turned off and the old world water selected in display options/advanced (I think that's the option name/location anyway) and that helps make it relatively lag free.
