Best exp for 55 war?Follow

I just recently started playing my war again and was wondering where the best place to exp for a 56 war would be. I've been concentrating on my main for the past 6-8 months and it seems like forever since I played anything in the 50's.

I recently went into pov and found that the exp wasn't as great as I remember. Haven't gone to the Hole since I never find people interested in going and haven't gone to that other place, HS ?, because I haven't taken the time to get the key. As far as mm's go, I only use those to grind aa's.

So where else would be good? I went to poj last night and was soloing right next to the exit and it seemed to yield much better exp than my trip to pov. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

When I was 55 I don't remember finding any place that was great solo XP. When I found myself all alone, I'd sometimes head to the caves in Dranik's Scar, or PoJ, or Dulak's Harbor (the not-so-great XP was offset by the decent profit).

If you can get a group, the Instanced Unrest is really good XP. I can't remember if you need an avg level of 55 or 60 for that one though.

If you didn't think PoValor was good at 55, you're in for a long haul.

I recently dragged a couple alts through the 50's. "Dragged" is the word for it. Short of getting PL'd in zones vastly above your capable level, there's no such thing as "really good" xp in the 50's. You settle for "barely acceptable".

It's worth mentioning though that I assume you were grouping in PoV and thus splitting xp with people level 60+ as opposed to soloing PoJ. So it's not much suprise that you found the solo xp better per kill. The problem just becomes maintaining an acceptable kill rate as a solo warrior.

No kidding, 58-59 on my rogue are killing me. Got about 10% to hit 60 now, though, so should be smooth sailing from there (only looking to get to 63 anyhow).

What I did to try to alleviate some of the pain, is hit zones that I could solo and that might also yield items I would actually want. Like Velks - not super awesome exp at 58, but I was hoping for diamond dust drops.

I did Droga with my chanter at around that level (maybe closer to 58ish) because I needed the coin and the exp wasn't too bad. I think most of Droga can be single pulled now except for maybe around the king. Not totally positive on that but I think they are spaced far enough apart in most places with reduced frenzy radius that you might be able to single pull and solo fairly well as a warrior there nowadays (with decent equipment and potions of course).

I paid 500k to a 65 Bard to PL me through the 50's.

Yep, even warriors can single pull much of Droga, or at least get doubles which we can handle. The challenge for a warrior is lack of snare or root for fleeing goblins.

Hehe, High Keep MM is the place to be, at least to grind through the 50's.

Ive taken my ranger and shaman, both which were 56 and did MMs back and forth with the both of them, one off and one on, for a couple of weeks and they are both 60 now.

Easy to find groups, and prety trivial if you ask me. I think the devs on EQ boards mentioned several times about nerfing this MM, the last one which didnt get nerfed yet. And the next content patch is due out 2/21 so chances are this MM will get the nerf, so might as well take advantage of it while its there. At least for your 50's because those levels take so long to grind through the oldschool way.

I usually take my alts to GE around 55. Good xp to 59 or so. Plethora of mobs and they don't hit like PoV mobs. They don't run either.

I have this on my warrior now for that purpose (though I rarely do the warrior gig much anymore). Seems to work fairly well if you are fighting something with a decent amount of HP. Basically, it just needs to take you long enough to get them to run health that you stand a decent chance of getting a proc in.

Silken Whip of Ensnaring

I also used to use something at the lower levels for fear kiting with my warrior. I think it was a 2HS great axe that proced fear and I was using something that proced maybe dooming darkness or something. Not really efficient but kinda fun to fear kite as a warrior.

Although not directly related to the OP, having tools like that as a warrior will definitely open up your hunting options.

You won't find better xp than The Hole. I love that place. At 65 I get an aa every 45 minutes soloing, and you don't have mobs hitting you for 300-600 with 50k hit points. Excellent cash, too.
