I agree that the OP is being very narrow minded saying this site is outdated, there is a vast supply of current info. however there is also a vast supply of outdated/no longer functioning quests etc. on this site that i think he is narrowing in on. that sort of thing is un-avoidable on a site this old and large. (i sure as hell wouldnt want to be the guy to hunt them all down)

on the other hand your amount of posts has absolutely nothing to do with your knowledge of the game. in fact considering the number of players on eq vs. the posters with large post counts here the "uber posters" are a very small minority. you cant really believe that between you guys you know everything EQ related? you forget everyone here started with 1 post and that dont make your knowledge of eq any more or less relevant.

people would flock here with more info than alla could handle.

I have a feeling that IS the situation at the moment with Alla, and probably has been for years...this is a very successful game website, and there is so much more info here than at any other site it is amazing.

to be honest i dont know either way wether or not alla has too much on his plate especially considering,

We rely heavily on user-submitted information for this site. If we are that out of date, send us some up to date information - railus@allakhazam.com.

I would love to see some thorough guides up on the site.

obviously they would like to see something, wouldnt you say?

im not trying to say that allas is outdated or bash the site. i was simply making a suggestion based on the apparent "popular" consensus.

And considering SOEs new expansion every other month campaign i would imagine its getting very difficult even for alla to keep up. i know i cant. (especially financially....)

I am sick and tired of this, please read before you reply.

You are completely missing my point, I meant that OTHER, OTHER sites are out of date. Allakhazam is great, perfect even, for Spell and item information, but severely lacking in terms of general knowledge.

If you are referring to me as a Troll, I have been a member of Allakhazam for over 2 years (This is a new account, obviously; I lost access to the email on my old one), and had visited it quite often when it launched (Back when everlore.com was a good site). Just because my post count is low does not mean my intelligence, or my knowledge is, or that I am a troll.

Since you seem to be inept at reading posts before you reply, 'alwayslost' (Which makes me think you're a troll), I thought I would quote what I had originally said.

Please people, I had never meant for this to turn into a Flame War - I just wanted people to get together and share their EQ knowledge.

This topic has gotten way off topic, and I'd just like to say that I won't be paying attention to it anymore as nearly every single person here has completely missed my point, a point that I would like to state again:
Allakhazam is a great site for detailed information such as spell, zone, monster, and item data.
However, general knowledge, as well as detailed (Non-spell/item) knowledge that delve into each class are severely lacking online (In general). This knowledge ranges anywhere from how a bard should swarm kite (I might add that EQDiva, once a great site, has not been updated for over two years), to what exactly you're paying for in each expansion.
As such, I simply suggested that those who have time and who wanted to - should look into Wikibooks, as it is a great, and easy way for many knowledgeable Everquestees to congregate and combine their knowledge in a way thats easy to navigate, and free for anyone to use or update.
If you have a problem with such a system, please don't see this thread as a way to express your hatred towards free speech or free knowledge, as it was not my intention to start a flame war.

Hey! I just tried to update your wikibook (someone wrote that frogloks start in gukta still, and forgot to put that they can be necromancers and shadowknights now too) and I got a message to stop putting nonsense on your wikibook and that it was vandalism... how is that vandalism? I thought you didn't want outdated information?

EDIT: Oh, I edited one more thing and that was when someone put that necromancer pets can tank all the time and my necromancer pet cannot tank.

wikipedia warnings always go to the next person using the same ip address. if you get a vandalism warning, it means either one ofyour sisters was ******* around with wikipedia, or the last person whom aol assigned the address to was.
