after i installed PoR and restarted my computer, when i try to open up EQ it gives me an error message saying "Error downloading or parsing configuration file"
any ideas whats wrong or is anyone else getting this?
Im gonna try reinstalling eq again to see if that fixes it : (

Hi! That's the same error message I'm getting, although I did NOT download PoR. Anyone have any ideas?
It could very well have something to do with the fact that EQ is down right now as they roll out the patches for PoR. I wouldn't mess with reloading, etc. until everything is back up. Be patient and see if that fixes it.
well according to eqplayers the servers are up.

The servers aren't back up until you can log in. Regardless of what the website says.
I got the same message. Just let it sit for maybe 20 mins, then try again. It's working for me now *shrug*. Though chances are they won't get done with the patches until later tonight.
Estimated downtime of 12 hours starting at 4am eastern this morning. Usually the time goes over so I wouldn't start to worry about it for at least another 4 hours.

The error message is either their connection to the web is down or too many people trying to download at same time.
Happened to me I waited 30 minutes and tried again. Now no problem actually downloading patch ( 1 hr download though grrrr)
