OK. Having been kicked I have down-time to say:

1.
New Ro & Freeport zones look pretty, but laggy (And I never usually get lag, even when botting 3 accounts on this PC)

2.
Arc looks good but I got pwned by a see invis mob (I'm level 70) and did exodus with 5%HP left

3.
Attempt to zone into Guild Lobby LD'd me twice

4.
Server (Drinal/Tarew) is now down so may be a server bug as opposed to Guild Lobby bug.

Happy days!

The least they could have done with FP is make it one zone instead of many. WAY too much wasted space!

FP looks nice though, wonder if they put the gallows back in it though.
Port of FP is stunning I think

They seriously messed up the horses in the game. My horse has very few graphics or shading. It is like a white paper doll with bow legs that wiggles instead of galloping. The warhorse looks nice guess we got punished for not buying a boxed version!

Freeport and such looks good figuring out the new zone took a while and still sort of lost where the open zones are if there are really any at all.

Not much to say, since my server (Luclin) has been down since about 10 minutes after the patch was done. Smiley: disappointed I did get to see a war horse, since me and some guildies started some newbies on Ant/bay server. We were all level 3 in POK when a gm mgb'd us all conviction! Not bad runnin around Field of Bone with 1800 HP as a level 3 monk!! LOL Other than that, I want my server back. Smiley: banghead

I didn't get the expansion so didn't see much. I did check out Freeport last night though.

The docks are done very well. It was nighttime when I arrived and the water sparkled wonderfully. Smiley: grin

The zone lagged pretty bad though for me and I fell in the water trying to jump on a boat. Had to swim around for a bit before I found some rocks to lithely pull myself up out of the water on.

My druid's track seemed shakey in North Ro. Tried to lock on to the magus to find the adventure camp and his track kept shifting. One second straight ahead, the next he was behind. Only thing I passed was a sand dune. Not until I was right on top of the Adventure Camp did it settle down.

Even if you pre-ordered the expansion, do a complete file check. I waited two+ hours downloading the original patch, only to LD trying to zone into Arcstone. Message said I did not have files for this zone. I did a complete file check for PoR, 40 more minutes of download later I logged trader for the night...hehe

For people that haven't been in the game yet...

New South Ro is best described as old South Ro and Oasis from the gypsy camp southward. The mobs are still the same. Everything (druid ring, LDoN camp, etc) are in roughly the same spot as before.

New North Ro is basically the gypsy camp in Oasis nortward to the old E FP city wall. The zone line is the city gates. So the old E FP newbie yard is now in N Ro. Like S Ro, everything is for the most part in the same general spot.

I didn't compare old and new Freeport to much. The port, which looks amazing (aka like a port) is nicely done. In E FP there are roaming bands of Milita. I was invis and they conned KoS, but they did not aggro and I walked among them (invis'd) for a bit. The same is true in W FP with bands of paladins/casters.
For the most part, all of the stuff from N FP is in the northern half of new W FP. All of the stuff from old E FP is in the eastern and southern portions of new E FP. W FP is split up, but I did't look too much into the split.

I looked for the gallows, but didn't find them. I wouldn't be surprised if they were not put back in intentionally for "political" reasons. If you played EQ2, Freeport (to me) has about the same graphics as those cities. I like the changes.

Also, rate up to Nobby for the avatar. Mesmerizing.

So... Oasis of Marr is gone? The whole zone not existing anymore?

Didn't someones Epic 1.5 involve a portal to Hate from the tower in Oasis? (Rogue?)

I wonder if they have remembered to update quests involving the old zones.

went to FP last night (don't have PoR, but hey). I can only second the impressions from the others, of how good it looks (Elinda, yes, the water looks great...but watch the sun rise, starting at 4 a.m...I did, while Sunowa was drunk - she had 60 short ales and almost started singing and burping in OOC). I didn't experience any lag though.

also, the music around the docks reminded me very much of EQ2 tunes...

once Sunowa sat down right beside the lighthouse (?) in the SE of the zone, the server crashed (Povar).

The buildings and general look of the zone are great, except how are you gonna call it a "updated zone" and release an expansion for it, then have all the NPC's still old models, could have went for an update to Luclin model NPC's and new FP Guards...

The actual zone is no longer there. When you leave the new S Ro on at the northern zone line you go into N Ro.

However...

In the new S Ro, the northern portion of it is about 3/4 of the old Oasis. Let me see if I can describe this. Remember when you were running north in S Ro, the mountains came together to create pass for you to zone into Oasis. Well, that pass is still there, but there is no zone line. The oasis stuff is still there, it is just part of two zones now. You still have the pond with the tower in the middle. You still have the orc camps. I don't know about the inns and such as I ran up the west side. On track, all the same mobs were there.

Summary, the actual Oasis zone is gone, but the Oasis stuff is still there. Geographically speaking, everything is still there.

Way to much LAG in the zones.
It seems also to have affected the zoning almost all over. I have Professional HSI cable and zone, at times, like I am on a dial up.
Will wait to really decide as the servers seem too unstable to give it a full try yet.

With the changes to the Freeport zones, they also moved an NPC for the Shaman 1.0.....the search for quest mobs will be interesting way to kill hours of time!! LOL

That portal now seems to be located at the top of the spire in South Ro.

Still suffering from lag, but only in the new zones.

Zoning, however, takes 3 times as long as it used to pre-PoR. Any zones (E.g. Guild Lobby to PoK used to take 3-4 seconds, now takes about 10-15)

WOSSATALLABOUT?

So far I like the expansion. The thing that's been missing from the game for a long time is faction actually meaning something. Yea it's going to make it a bit rougher for my iksars to go around freeport but that's part of what I've been wishing was back.
