unconfirmed, but I hear that in the clockwork mission, the xp is down a bit and you have to kill 40 goblins (but no respawns).

Well they have changed the missions radically.

I tried the mission in HH lastnight. It now requires three warriors and 2 clerics to start.

You are allowed to only have 6 deaths or you fail the mission.

The Goblins seem much tougher, maybe we just were not doing the same damage. It did seem better to use weapons, no shield though.

The respawn time is about 10 minutes.

We cleared to the basement and someone went and hailed the Captain. The rest of us headed upstairs but waited for him to join us first.

The CY had respawned.... We went back there and re-cleared the CY.

We headed back in and re-cleared to the upstairs.

This is now nearly 45 min into the mission. were sitting at 30 goblins killed and have 5 hours 15min remaining.

Upstairs we messed up... We ended up with three rooms on us and died rapidly thus ending the mission.

Before we died we did try to hail the prisioners, the goblins attacked them and they were unable to flee.

I think this is possible to complete though you must keep the prisioner path clear for them to leave. Best bet would seem to be to pull everything to the CY and just keep clearing re-spawns from there. I would think it will take over 3 hours to complete though.

SOE stated they wanted to make the reward match the time involved. This is more like spending 3 hours in WOS. The reward had better be at least 3 aa...

HHK - from what I have gathered from reading everyone's comments:

-You can have a maximum of 4 warriors.
-You cannot unequip your sword and shield. This lowers your DPS.
-Goblins are the same, but with the lower DPS they seem harder.
-Respawn is the same, it just respawns since your DPS is lower.
-Prisoners will not run if goblins are around.
-Prisoners will attack the goblins.
-Prisoners will attack the cleric if they heal while they are attacking goblins.
-You are allowed six deaths.
-It takes about 90 mins to finish.
-Those that have finished it say you get half the exp.

Clockwork

-You have to kill 40 goblins.
-A 4 person group can do this in 45 mins.
-There is no respawn of goblins.
-Suicide runs are useless now since you have to kill 40 goblins anyway.
-Experience reward dropped about 10%-20%.

Prisoners attack the goblins... ahh that does make sense.

90minutes for about half an aa?

I will be in WOS...

Only reason to do the MM now is for the drop(s).

Aye Dot...

I will probably do the Clockwork mission to get some rings for my toons, and that is about it. I might run the fairy mission for a necklace for my necro.

I'd have to agree for the most part with Jonnypanic on this one. I will be very glad to see MM's go. Yes they used to be great xp grinds, I'd even 3 box some of them to secure a level or pick up a few aa's. But overall they do Norrath much more harm than good. We've seen this rash of mm'd toons since DoD came out and using LFG is a scary thing these days. MM's can be a good thing in moderation, but when people go from 20 to 65 using them it really screws them up when they want to go get a real group somewhere. I know I'm not the first person to say this by a long shot, but did want to say I won't be missing mm's. Not to mention, playing your own toon is much more fun and benefitial in the long run, imo.

It's clear why SOE cut down exp on the monster missions.

They know that I'll be hitting the 50ies soon, and that I planned working on AA's via mm's...

I really loved the EXP I could gain in an MM. Trying to get an alt up to my main's status.. its a time consuming process to make a 70 with mass AA's, complete spell book, and high trade skills, when you start on a new server. Listening to myself, I guess I do have high expectations.. its been nearly two and a half months on this character, and he's not even 67 yet. Still at 64 AA's. /sigh

With the removal of the MM's, its not a hallow threat anymore, and I've overcome the addiction. I'm going to look for a new game. Sony's sent a message that they're no longer going to appeal to the casual players, nor will they again. When they changed MM's and I'm realizing so many MOBs are uncharmable/mezzable/snarable and have summon, its blantently obvious Sony's trying to keep people from soloing in the high end. Its no conspiracy, and nothing to cover up.. for the company, anyhow. Personally, I've been turning a blind eye and hoping for things to be different when I try again tommorow.

Once I can find a better game for me, I'm quiting EQ. To those that still play, hey, enjoy; I'll probably stick around for another month or two. I hope others are enjoying it more than I have lately.
