So I don't exactly have a 2007 Specification 37 bajillion dollar PC, but it's pretty nifty for what I want.

3.8MHz Processor
2005 512Mb Nvidia grafix card
1Gb Ram
100+Gb spare hard drive space

I can happily 3 box by the main bank in PoK when there are 3,000 lvl 70s chain MGB'ing Clairvoyance, Brells, Fo7 and Skin Like Condaleezza.

So what's with the new zones?

In the new South Ro (prettier than Jennifer Aniston's Shaving mirror) I lag like a beeotch.

I ventured into Elddar Forest - yep, it's easy on the eye, but I was able to go and make a cup of tea, brazilian wax the cat, resolve the Palestine/Israel conflict and evolve the cat into a philosophy professor (which Ironically, preaches intelligent design) in between screen refreshes.

I know some of you will tell me to go into the advance display settings and turn off the shadows, Kevin Kostner water effects and such-like, but I tried those.

I just don't understand the lag.

Wow! I do go on don't I.

Summary: New zones seem very very laggy.

Or is it just me?

Please note, if you all claim there's no lag, I shall kill myself .
Could you really live with that on your conscience?

Could you?

Haven't noticed any lag.

Maybe because I haven't played since PoR went live...

Preface this with the fact that I lag terribly in PoK. I always have to some extent but it's gotten worse (pre expansion). I have to have my husband do all the Pok business while I try just try and get to the next book.

Freeport though is lagging where it hadn't before, but not to the extent that the zone is unuseable.

I hit NRo last night. It lagged too but not as bad as Freeport. When I wasn't lagging though and just running around I seemed to move faster than normal??? I was in wolf form and felt like I was flying over the parched desert sand. Smiley: grin

I still find it funny to see Nobby posting in this forum. What's up with that?

Try upgrading from 1Gb of ram to 2 gigs. This will definitely help out your lag issues.

IM at 3 gig of meory ATM and have had no lag at all. I do have shadows and advanced lighting turned off and even with the 3 gig I do get slight lag with them on on raids.

I almost died due to lag in N ro when the guard attacked my poor shamaness. The puppy died allowing me some room to start running. Made the zone with 23 percent health.
Some lag in So ro but not nearly as bad.
POK was painful on Tuesday, but not too bad yesterday.

Update

I've reduced some of the graphic options and I have no lag in pre-PoR zones, but in North Ro, Ruins of Takish-Hiz and Elddar forest I lag like a laggy thing.

And if there's water visible (The ocean in Ro) I can barely move.

I blame blizzard (coz I feel like random accusations)

if you go inot advanced settings for video (alt-o then advanced in display tab) you can turn the water effects and shaders down/off wich will dramatically improve your performance.

I got home from work yesterday and my husband had upgraded my video card and added some memory to my computer.

No more lag for me ANYWHERE!! Smiley: grin

Nobby, you should try those advanced display settings.
