Arcstone Gear ~ NiceFollow

#1 Feb 23 2006 at 10:25 AM Rating: Decent
Me and a friend were hunting the trash mobs in Arcstone when we had some no drop items drop. My bud said "You loot em..ya never know."
So I did.

One of the items was a Spirit Mark of Water(not found in Alla's or Lucy). Later on my bud died and while he was rebuffing I was talking to all of the NPC's at the zone in.

There is this one female NPC who talks about Spirit Armor and sells the Spirit armor Molds. Wellin reading her text I notice she needs Spirit Marks to make you the Armor! I was like "No way I am this lucky!" but sure enough....The Mark of Water is for the Feet Slot.

I Buy the Boot Spirit Mold from her for about 1100 plat I beleuve and hand her the Mold and the Mark and..TaDaaa.....

Woven Bramble Boots(again not found on Alla's or Lucy)

It was late and I didnt screenshot them. (My Bad)

Boots had mostly +10 to all stats, +20 Wis, +2 Regen/Mana Regen, +5 DS, 120 HP and 130 Mana.

I will submit item to Alla's tonight!

Just a reminder when in new zones...Loot Everything cause ya never know!

Here is a link to my EQPlayers Page for Akornn for those with the Premium Item lookup: AKORNN

I have seen several of the gear from this quest linked in game, I did not write down any of the info or take screen shots, but my impression is that this gear is much better then the HP number shows.

Many pieces have mana regen, or excellent focus effects or clickies effects, designed to make you choose to use this gear at a cost of total HP over better gear.

Not all pieces fit this description, but many seem to do so. The necro chest piece a grp mate made after a winning roll had a clicky effect of Fang of Death or maybe even an upgrade to that spell not yet in Allas. This is a staple spell used on all mobs at level 70 and is essesstially creates a free spell slot, probably well worth for him the loss of 150 hp from a "better" chest piece. The chest piece also had mana regen.

I saw a berseker gear peice with a new focus effect that increased his damage from the special berzerker throwing items by 10%. Also saw a nice (different from above poster) druid peice with mana regen and nice focus effect.

The hps are very low for the effects most of this gear has, but if the gain in the effect is worth it, you may be better off. I hope I am not dissapointed when I find out what my rogue can get for this quest.

doesn't really free up a spellslot, as it has a 420 second recast.

also, the berserker mod is pretty worthless, as throwing damage is pretty lame except for in a couple situations.

I did not write it down so I did not notice the recast time =/ , but I did find the lucy link for the Robe of the Whispering Soul. I do notice now that it can be clicked from inventory which might make it more desirable to own despite the 7 min recast time, especially since it has 0.8 cast time which is a lot shorter than casting the spell.

I do not play a zerker, I had thought that throwing was a big thing for them, but I defer to someone who knows how to play the class.

I also found some more links for other items from this quest:
Druid: Woven Bramble Tunic also has a nice inventory slot usable clicky
Woven Bramble boots

Mag : Elemental Essence Robe also has a nice inventory slot usable clicky
Elemental Essence Breeches Focus effect
Elemental Essence Slippers
Elemental Essence Wristcuff

Warrior: Breastplate of the Blessed Champion also has an inventory slot usable clicky, but not so good of one.
Helm of the Blessed Champion
Greaves of the Blessed Champion

Bard : Prismatic Scaled Breastplate also has an inventory slot usable clicky, but not so good of one.

BST : Tunic of the Wildkin also has a nice inventory slot usable clicky
Leggings of the Wildkin focus effect
Boots of the Wildkin

Not many beasts will use the clicky on the BP because of the resist rates on our DOT's. I never even bothered to get the last two glowing runes I need for the last two of my 70 spells because no one finds them that useful. Hardly any beasts use festering malady.

Although, it is a mana free dot, if it lands, it's extra damage. And the BP would be an upgrade to what I'm using now...barely. Someone said on the beast boards that the clicky is never resisted, although the spell always is, so maybe it's worth getting :)

with full throwing aas and an ikkinz tome, throwing damage might approach a zerker with no aas and a weighty polearm.

An 18sec duration chant with a seven minute recast time. That'd be f--king hilarious is it wasn't so God damn pathetic.
