Gave it a 0 only because there weren't any negative numbers...

I like it. They did a great job creating what they intended. A grimy midevil walled city. I would have given a 5 if they had revamped the cities people instead of putting in those chunky, blocky toons, and if "Find" worked.

Gave it a 3 and that's generous. Too much open space for your average "city". They needed to upgrade the NPC models in there too. The stuff in there that's static looks more lively than the the things in there that are supposed to be alive.

Looks like all that orc, skelly, rat and bat slaying has paid off for some of the guards...they seem to have gained a few levels for their efforts.

I like the Ro improvements much more.

I personally gave it a 2. the graphics are nice .. i was just infuriated by the treatment of monks in Freeport .... our humble little shack has been knocked down and they replaced it with a dilapidated tool-shed.

Only problem I have with it is that there seem to be buildings with no doors, or steps that go up to doors but the doors don't open. Seems unfinished to me.

There was nothing wrong with the old freeport. If it isint broke dont fix it. Anyways one of the reasons i liked EQ was because it had just enough graphics too look cool and still be a good and efficient game. I didnt sign up for the graphics anyway.

Boomba was moved to East Freeport. He still has all those fun pickles we all love.

Edit: Sigh, missed the post that has already explained Boomba's loc. Still, it's nice to know most of our fave merchants are still around.

Thinks its great. The steaming piles of horse crap are a nice touch.

I liked the old Freeport. Revamped Freeport like like Qeynos V2.

Not to mention that they didn't change East Commonlands any so if you go from WFP to EC and then look back you see the walls and landscape from old Freeport.... which really doesn't help the continuity

I gave it a 2.
1.The graphics look great, but the city looks too much like EQ2 version now. If their goal is to revamp all cities into EQ2-style,then why not just merge the 2 games? Uh-oh....I may've given them another stupid idea....sorry...another merge to equalize the loss of population....
2. "Find" isn't working for me at all here, yet.
3. Where the heck is the warrior guild now? And once I find it,who gets the Deathfist Belts now? Same guy? Is the quest still intact?
4. Where's the bank? The map doesn't show most of these places. At least,I couldn't see them.

Well,back to DDO now :-)

I would have liked to see a major event have happened to old freeport and an all new one appear with the new freeport as it center. You could have used freeport as a new monster strong hold. I guess I just miss the old version.
Lots of wasted space, hard to navigate and very laggy.

EC was changed a while back, also for the worse. The graphics became very muddy. This was extremely obvious when looking at the old Freeport West wall (nice and crisp graphics)then zoning into EC and looking at the wall. The EC tunnel walls also took on a poorer look. Over all, it looked as if they had painted the zone in water colours, then dipped them in water until they blurred a bit. What is funny, is that they did that change and didn't know or had not planned on this new Freeport, which makes this FP revamp look like it was dropped in to make the PoR expansion look as if it contained something

I gave it a two...

Not because I don't like the look.
Not because it's too large.
Not because it's hard to navigate.

But because I am an Iksar lizard, and I spent weeks and months becoming Ally with everything possible in Freeport.

It used to be that when I entered Freeport the citizens were lining up to cheer me. Now I have peasants throwing poo at me.

Thats not fair. :(

I think it looks better, surely different. I give it a 4.

I like the look, a bit laggy, but nice. Of course for all us old school paladins that are hated by guards it's not fun when invis drops being that everything is light blue at 70 now rather than green. Also some of the greens in the ro's have massive regen and unkillable solo.

Was a nice idea, but they over did it with the guards.

I gave it a 2. I actually LIKED the slummy look of old Freeport. It looked like an economically depressed port town. (I could almost smell it.) Now it looks like the capital of a vast empire. I used to think of old Freeport as Detroit and Queynos as being like Ann Arbor - denser and quaint. Now Freeport has walls the height of Byzantium's and Queynos by contrast feels like PeeWee's playhouse.

I do agree that the graphics for the revised Oasis - South Ro zone are top notch, however.

Boomba is now in East Freeport near the Ro zone. I missed the other comments on this too.

I agree, this has the look and feel of EQ2. If I had wanted to play EQ2 I would have purchased it after beta. I rate it a 1 for this reason.
#48 Feb 27 2006 at 1:30 PM Rating: Default
Pretty lame, just copied aetwork from EQ2. No real reason to go there other than to waste time looking, added nothing to the game that I noticed. Just a waste of energy when they should have been updating the content and gear for this and any of the Old zones. Why even come here?

I accidently gave it a 5, that was just before I remembered some miniscule details that these nice people reminded me of. Could you take on score of 5 and make it a 4?

I only ask that it be made a 4 because of two things.
Find function no longer works there.
They did not bother labeling the maps again, for those that had taken the time to label maps before.

If its an actual pirate type port, why is it so clean?
#50 Feb 27 2006 at 2:37 PM Rating: Decent
I have not been in it since i have not reactived my account (dang Iraq). I am going to have to relearn the zone. Fenton will have problems unless they changed the faction hits.

Gave it a 3.

looks great 'BUT' its to big,all looks the same & a huge waste of time IMO, i mean why bother?, the starting city's & newbee zone 'experience' has been completely destroyed by the tutorial. the starting citys are now ghosttowns & the newbee zones that surround them now barren wastelands devoid of newbees out exploring the vast world for the first time, now replaced by 'ONE' tutorial zone & when done that pushed out into nothing more then a fast-food world of fast exp & zero exploration. its almost painful when i go back to these once great zones just teeming with newbees running around egar for some buffs hehe. their is just so much that im sure a new player today will never get to exp,so many special zones & mobs that today are almost never seen, I find it very sad. :-(

you gota see the view of the wall of the city from the NRO side tho = WOW! :-)

the NRO/SRO re-make is nice to,now only two big zone's instead of three 'BUT' again a huge waste of time & space that will never be used, just a shadow of what was once a HUGELY popular area FULL of PC's now completely barren. :-(

I think the tutorial should be 'COMPLETELY SEPARATE' from the actual game, like it used to be & i think it is in EQ2?. & when your ready to start playing the real thing you should start in your starting city & newbee areas like you always did.

all I know is this tutorial thing has completely destroyed the 'NEWBEE EXP' of EQ IMO & something needs to be done to RIGHT this WRONG.

TY.
