Champ Vs. ThaneFollow

Why would anyone choose a Champ over a Thane, other than realm preference?

Champions:
Fighters that may either use one-handed weapons, or more preferably, gigantic "large weaponry," i.e. really big hammers, giant swords, etc. Their spells consist mainly of debuffs.

Thanes:
Fighters that may use almost any weapon, but most prefer hammers (most quest weapons for thanes are hammers, to go along with the Thor thing). Their spell line, stormcalling, is awesome - it is mainly damage-dealing (zapping enemies with lightning) and has a couple buffs. A thane is a great combo of a fighter and a direct damage-based caster.

That being said, someone may choose a champion over a thane because of the huge weapons, or because they like to debuff... but i see it as just realm preference. I think thanes own champions any day.

Yeah...I have a 29 Champ. I wish I had made a Thane instead. They seem to be a lot more fun, not to mention more useful. I'm going to start a Thane today with an eventual lvl 50 Spec of 48 Storm, 39 Swords (only cause i like using swords), 42 Shield and 15 Parry.

The reason you choose a champion over a thane, is because the 2h weapons do significantly more damage than 1h weapons do. The debuffs basically make your opponent useless in a 1v1 fight if they stick. And at higher levels, the thanes stormcalling line, is a joke...plain and simple.

I was troll thane once... loads of fun! But took like 45 seconds to recast anything and spells did like 2-5 damage at lvl 5 :P Trolls are NOT good at stormcalling.
