#1 Oct 01 2004 at 7:43 PM Rating: Decent
I just bought the game 2 days ago and so far I think its a great RPG. Now I want to know some pointers that any of you have on being a Healer, what you lookf for when in a group with a healer and what to expect from a healer.

kk so my healer is only lvl 44 but here are a few pointers. train up your pac all the way to 36 and when you get to 36 put points into mending. by the time you get to 50 you will have the following spec. mending 40 (100% rez @ lvl 40) pacification 36 (insta-AOE mez @ lvl 36) and 4 augmentation (pretty much just to use up extra points). with this spec you should end up with 1 point left over. or another option is go mending 36, pacification 36, and augmentation with all the points you have left. with this spec you will be sacrificing your 100% rez but will have a few (self) damage adds/shields as well as speed chant a str/const buff. you can always get a 100% rez if you spend 30 realm skill points and get perfect recovery 3. but i do suggest getting perfect recovery 1 as soon as possible but that's just my opinion. i had your same question and had to do quite a bit of studying/calculating to find all this stuff out. hope i helped you out a bit.

also another good healer spec is 36 pac, 33 mend, and the rest into augmentation. this spec i think is one of the better ones because you actually get more use out of your weapon than just cracking nuts with it. just a thought... this may be the final spec on my healer but haven't quite decided yet.

I have a 49 healer.. And she's specced 35 pac, 41 mend. That will get you into mod groups, and yellow PoM which is usefull. I stuck the rest into mend, which is awesome. Healers arn't here to put out alot of damage... You won't get no where soloing. If you spec aug, do it for haste and such. Aug/mend healers are nice, having speed, buffs, and heals. Aug/pac is also a rising spec... Crowd Control and buffs. Pac/mend has to be the most used... Heals and CC. My healer is 35 pac and 41 mend... Its a real good spec. Alot of healers I have talked to that don't spec high in mend, wish they would have. People expect a healer to give bases buffs, and haste or PoM. They also expect heals and CC... They expect alot. =/
