Question on Epic Quests and their levelsFollow

#1 Nov 17 2004 at 12:23 PM Rating: Decent
I recently just started this game, wish I had done so a long time ago..Im totally immersed. But after researching the epic quests and their progression, several questions pop up.

1. Since the quest is chopped up into their respective levels...i.e. level 7 you get a quest...level 11 you get one..etc...do you HAVE to do them right when you get that level and do they need to be completed before you get your next level? For example, I just turned 11 with my Necro, but the quest looks kinda tough if I try to solo it now. So I was thinking of getting a couple of levels (say 13) before doing the lvl 11 quest. But I am afraid that I'll miss my chance at it and never see the quest again (thus messing up the whole operation from the start) if I dont do it right then when I talk to my trainer at lvl 11.

2. Is it possible to forego the epic questing all together until a much later time and then fly through most of it? (yeah its not intended that way, but still, just curious)

3. Last one, but with the expansions now, I see a lot of people in game tell me that they arent worth the trouble anyway with all the other good stuff you can get instead. So I guess Im wondering if its worth doing them at all. Id like to hope so, just for being able to say I did it.

If you veterans or well experienced DAOC'ers out there can help me with this, Id REALLY appreciate it, thanks!!

sincerely,

ME! :)

You can postpone doing your epic quests, but you cannot accumulate them. You have to finish your level 7 quest before you are given your level 11 quest, and finish your level 11 quest before you are given your level 15 quest, etc.

Many seasoned players do not do the quests until later in their careers, however, the item rewards are useless then. The rewards are often very good for the level of the quest and if you don't have other sources of "income" for spellcrafted armor and other equipment, it's beneficial to do your quests as soon as you can.

It's true most seasoned players don't even wear their epics anymore, however, it is still kind of a rite of passage that you did it.

Ok, thanks for the info!! Just making sure i could gain a couple of levels before doing the lvl 11 quest, since it puts you in the middle of a nasty aggro area..and Im a loner Necro who hasnt made many aquaintances yet on Gaheris, so more than likely, I will be soloing these quests for a while anyway hehe. Thanks for replying.
