Hello i was just wondering if a hunter is a good choice for a first character and if hes strong or weak.
I'm no expert, only have a 6th lvl hunter, but I would say hunter isn't the best choice for a newbie. Usually (in any game) start a straight warrior for armor and hps, and that way you can learn the lay of the land. As to hunters being weak or not, kinda cool to have ranged attacks and a pet to tank for ya....
I think the best choice of what class to play first depends on your playstyle.
If you prefer playing archer classes, and enjoy playing then play it. It's all about having a good time.
If you need cash to help you get started, casters are usually pretty cheap to level and are a good way to get some cash early on.

i suppose it will be hard to start out as a hunter but if u can manage the harder ones to start then you can do anything You should do what you think you will enjoy although i would say a tank or a caster would be the best
Well, if you're hoping to just roll an 'uber' character go for a warlock because they're not balanced yet.
When it all falls down to it, you control whether or not your character is 'strong or weak'. Your spec and ability to handle situations determines whether or not a character is successful.
As for beginning, I find the hunter, if utilized correctly is a VERY dangerous soloer and definately a great class. Then again I've seen plenty of **** poor hunters too.

Yea what Blatherion said! ;) He is right tho, when I first tried hunter I gave up by 8th lvl. Came back after learning a bit of the game (ie a couple of 20th-odd lvl cha's on Nimue) I now have a lvl 14 hunter in Guin (competing for time with my lvl 12 BD) and I am having a blast with both. Hunter smoked a OJ caster mob other day because I was feeling froggy. Best advice of all is do the newbie quests to get starter eq, and then just have fun.
