I just got my spellcrafter to 1005 (major WOOT) and was planning on taking him all the way to 1059, however I need some advice. I've invested exactly 15 plat into spellcrafting so far and by all accounts I'll need another 15-20 for the rest of the way. However from the research I've done, it doesn't seem that I'll be able to make any higher gems for imbuing purposes (which is the only reason I've really done the whole spellcrafting thing). The "Ra gem" line from 900-999 seems to include everything I can possibly use for imbuing purposes armor, weapons, etc.

So what’s the point of going all the way to 1059? I do know that by going all the way to 1059 I'll have a better chance of making MP's, lose less materials and have a lower chance of "blowing up" while imbuing.

But, this crap is really getting expensive now. I have cost out the next item I need to make in order to keep leveling, and it looks like I'll be spending about 200 gold PER ATTEMPT (prob can sell for 100 afterward). Since approximately I'm leveling 1 out of 4 items that I craft, you can see that each level I go up should cost about 400 gold.

So if there's no real upside to this other than what I've stated above, please let me know, because I'll just keep my cash in my pocket. Please advise.

How do you spend 15p on 1-1000 and 15p on 1000-1059? I've never had any LGM crafters, my 330 SCing Necro is my best =/ but what makes it so freakin expensive?

Spellcrafting is really expensive just because lol. I don't know why exactly, but here's my guess. It allows you to maximize your toon exactly to your specification. You can really tailor your toon. For instance, my lev 30 infil was able to get +7 on his envenom, slash, dual W, stealth, etc. because i could spellcraft. You can't enhance your stats to this degree with any other craft. Just my take.

It shouldn't be too expensive from where you are to LGM. SC'ing is a very important craft, but so is any of the others (except fletching imo). They all go hand in hand with maximizing your character's attributes.
