Nimora's Celestial CompassFollow

I received a lv50 quest called Nimora's Celestial Compass from Capn Chryse in Notos. I had to go to hill on temple of kings island and dig in some rocks after killing dozens of harpies.

I was rewarded with a crystal ball of the same name and it is a usable item. Description says that using it in Atlantis will show me the path to the heavens. It also says that it is level 1.

When I use it it does nothing more than give a short description of the surrounding are. In typhon it says 'staring into the crystal ball reveals the soot-filled air of typhon's reach'.

So far I have found zero info on the net about it, and my normal daoc loremasters are clueless. Anyone know what this is and why I had to gather a small party to get it?

BTW, it reminds me of Adnil's magical orb from a level 5 quest...NCC better not be a worthless novelty like that.
