Was badgered by a strange enchanter in Howth. At first I thought he was another player and I tried to ask him what he wanted - then I realized he was a NPC. He says he's an enchanter who has messed up and has turned some bugs into giants, he gave me a necklace that I am to wear when I find them and to say "shrink" so they will get small enough for me to kill them. He says I'll need to take a group with me.
Has anyone ever received this quest/task before, and if so why is it not listed as a quest or a task in my journal? (The only place it showed up was in the top of the dialogue box and of course I have the necklace in my pack). Also, if you have done this - any pointers?

Dear Runlin: I saw him again yesterday when I was in Howth. His name is Mad Enchanter and under that it says Enchanter. He walks around the outside of Howth - and he tends to go straight down from the gate toward the road and then over road and down hill. I tried to talk to him again, but he wouldn't talk.
He accosted me as I was nearing the gate of Howth, but he kept coming around to me and saying 'Hello Eldritch you must help me.' At first I thought he was another player and I tried to type a reply - but I had to click on him like a NPC and then he gave me his speech.
He says that he was trying to get higher up in the Enchanter's guild (he gives a name of the guild - but I don't remember it - it had some anacronym like L.I.F.E.H.A.N.D. or something --- not that, but you get the idea, unfortunately I didn't write it down). But in trying to impress them he had made a mistake with a spell and had turned water beetles and other creatures into giants. He gave me a 'wand necklace' and says to take a group and go southwest till water narrows, cross the water going east-southeast till you reach a small valley between 2 hills and there I will find the monsters. I should wear the necklace and say "shrink" and the monsters would shrink so we could kill them. He says he needs me to do this so the guild won't find out about his mistake - he's really desperate.
This does not show up as a quest or a task. It won't allow me to sell the 'wand necklace' so I figure it must be a quest of some kind.
I haven't been to that area yet - wanting to take a group like he said and just see if there are monsters. Hope you can find out more. Thanks, Allissaid
