My First ImpresstionsFollow

#1 Apr 26 2005 at 4:05 AM Rating: Decent
After spending almost 12 hours downloading the 14 day trial i got to play for a short period this morning before I went off to work.

My first impressions are mixed...I am comming from WoW where I am now bored of it...I'm more into the RPG side of things than actually hack and slash...so owning a house is an important part of any mmorpg, which is why i'm trying this game.

I started out as an Albion Fighter as i like to use heavy armor...I'm a little confused as to what the different attack icons do in the top left corner of ths screen....I've upgrade one skill which was Slash...now how do i know which attack move is the best one...do different attack moves do more damage

I'm not overly impressed with the animation of the models...it seems to be to slow and they slide around on the floor...the graphics are nice tho.

I've also heard that u get drops from mobs which can be used at the level u are at...which i like the idea of.

Cheers.

here is the main things that i always do with my new characters that i make. i level them all the way to lvl 5 w/o training any of my weapon skills at all and then when i hit lvl 5 i go to my specialty trainer to train what i want. for example... if you want to be a paladin then when you hit lvl 5 go to the paladin trainer when you hit lvl 5 and train up your main weapon skill/chants/shield. The little icons that come up on your attack menu are what you will use in combat. the higher lvl you train your weapon up to the more damage you will do and the easier time you'll have killing things... naturally :P some of the attacks have a requirement to be able to use them... i.e. after you block with your shield your next attack can be a "follow-up" attack... same if you evade/parry. some of your attacks will be "anytime styles" that you can use anytime... imagine that haha. and you can have attacks later on in the game that are follow-ups to these anytime styles... which then become chain attacks... like for example an infiltrator at lvl 50 has an attack chain that he can do when he evades that is 4 attacks long. you will also get attack chains off of blocks and parries. generally speaking... the higher lvl the attack style the harder you'll hit with it. did i confuse you enough?? i was trying to be as clear as possible. hope this helped a bit hehe.

if you will right click on what it is you have a question about, it will bring up a window telling about it. then you hold shift and press i to see any other notes on the skill/weapon/or item.
