Let keep it short and sweet...

Bear with me, I really would like to hear from a DAoCer's perspective.

I am ex-everquest player, who is currently playing World of Warcraft. I am growing tired of WoW for many reasons, and EQ as most everyone knows has become repetitive. WoW is too cartoony and alot of the people who play act immature (this is with every mmo though). Also, it seems as if it is almost too easy to where it takes the fun out of it and makes it more of a job. I have played DAoC before, but I believe the reasons I have not liked it before are due to playing the wrong class.

DAoC fills in every thing I am looking for. RvR, a variety of different classes, classic RPG scenery, and more. But, as I notice more alot of MMOs are dying off due to World of Warcraft and games such as The Matrix Online.

I guess the big question is -

What do you think about the state of DAoC? And that state of your server?

I am interested in moving to DAoC, but I feel that if I come in this late in the game it would take me forever to catch up to the epic content I would like to see. I don't want to be spending hours or even days leveling solo because that is just plain boring.

I believe that everyone that left for other games,(WOW). Are beginning to come back to daoc, i noticed a decrease in numbers a couple weeks ago. But over the weekend i noticed large numbers on all the servers, which made me feel good that daoc is still going strong.

The great thing about DAoC, is that it's not totally designed, and updated for the higher lvl players. They also look out for the lower lvl people too.

When you hit lvl 20, you can go into the battlegrounds,(RvR).
There is a couple different battlegrounds, which depends on your lvl(which allows for a better experience, cuz it would suck being lvl 20 fighting against a lvl 45 character). I think mythic did a good job in lookin out for the little guys.

I created a character, and in one month i had hit lvl 30(i only played on friday night and saturday night). So no, it does not take long to catch up with the higher lvl people. Mythic designed specific dungeons for the lower lvl characters; and the leveling up process is not so bad that it would take forever to reach a high enough lvl to do epic quests/battles/or raids.

As for creating characters go here and use the generator to see what you like best.
