A lvl 45 told me that once you get a character up to 50 any subsequent characters you start will begin at lvl 20 - is this correct? If this is so then it's silly for all of us to spend time making other characters until we get one of them up to 50 -right?

Yes and no. You have to talk to the trainer and do /level. Then continuosly click on the trainer until your lvl 20. You only get this option once you have one lvl 50.

As to the silly part, it depends. If you are like me it took a year to get a character to 50 and it wasnt even my first character. I had to find one that I really liked.

Just enjoy your characters. If your playing on that you really dont like or enjoy it will show when you start RvRing.

I suggest a Paladin/Heretic or paladin/cleric duo to get a lvl 50. Less down time and more xp.

Thnx for your info Mida, yes I agree it's most important to just enjoy playing and to find a character that suits us. Another question? Once you reach 50 can you level up a character you had previously started - or only new ones? I thank you for your suggestion about a paladin/heretic or paladin/cleric. Thnx again.
You'll be able to level all your toons to 20 using the /level command, even ones that you have already started. The only exceptions are the new Catacombs classes, you can NOT /level any of those. Unless it's been changed reciently and nobody told me :)
