Hi, I played DAoC a long time ago, enjoyed it a lot, but switched to play WoW for a bit. I am now much more experienced with MMO's and know a lot more about what's going on.
When I did play DAoC, I was an altaholic, and had pretty much every class in the game up to at least 15, and didn't play one to 50. Now during that time, I spent a lot of my time with the Savage and loved the concept of a H2H Warrior tearing up his opponents with his fists.
However, when I played the Savage I also had a lot of down time and problems. I'm wondering if this would be a good class to get back into the game with, or if I should play around with a couple others first then try one out again.
(Also, I heard on the internet that they can be troublesome. I don't like listening to the whines I hear on forums and such but sometimes they can't be drown out =P.)

Savages are a fun class and they can be trouble some. The reason you probably had trouble with down time is because the self buffs use like 5% of your health for each buff. However Mythic added tinderboxes which help improve downtime as well as regen rates for health and power at lower levels. As for starting with a savage I would not recommend it, might check into beserker first as they are simular. If you HAVE to have a savage I would also check into classic servers as finding a group/guild to help you level seem more available.
