Just your average newbie looking for some help. I've decided to go back to DAoC, and give the trial a try. But I got a problem while pacthing the client. It seems every time I try to patch, the patcher will lock up, and after a few min it will present me with an error. Either 201 or 301. I've looked around for information on this problem, and all I keep finding is that the servers might me jammed with people trying to patch. But a friend of mine got through just fine first try. So I'm wondering if it is my system or if the servers really have a high load. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

yesterday, there was a small patch, so if you have a slow connection, this could be the reason b/c probably thousands of people were getting a small patch.
Next Tuesday will probably be a huge patch in which many or most people will often only get a portion of the patch before it freezes/gives an error, but on a normal day, this would not be a problem at all. There is usually only a patch every month or two.

correction, the big patch will hit tomorrow (Wednesday, the 21st), so prepare for a long sign in tomorrow to get the entire patch.
They sometimes "pre-patch" some of the full patch to alleviate the demand on patch day, and that was what yesterday was.
Once you get through tomorrow's nightmare, then it should be easy to log into each time for at least 2 months until the next patch makes its way around.

Well, as it turns out, it isn't working today either. I tried both this morning and this afternoon. So to me, it really doesn't seem like the issue is a high server load. Unless Mythic has outdated servers. But I will continue to wait. And judging by the new info about a new patch tomorrow, I probably wont be able to even start my trial till next week. Which is a bummer. About that pre-patch thing, do you know of a place to get it (assuming it is a download from another server)?

They try to ease the load a bit, so that you don't have to download the whole thing in one day. They usually put a few MB of download a couple of times, then they might have the big patch with the remaining 30 MB or more (which is today sometime).
Yes, it seems like you are having problems other then the server. This pre-patch would not have caused server stress, so either you have a very slow connection that is getting timed out, or there is some other problem. I think they can send you CDs with the trial stuff on it if you are unable to download it. Call Mythics support number and I am sure they can come up with something.
