Utility or DD?Follow

I haven't played that much Midgard and was wondering what caster classes were more utility and which focused more on doing damage?

Thanks!

Depends if you are looking for rvr or pve. Alot of different specs for different areas of the game. Just as an example a Dark spec'd SM has alot of utility in rvr but is pretty worthless for PVE where as a Suppresion or even Summoning can excel in Pve but are almost uncommon in rvr. Warlocks are overpowered in small numbered situations and keep defense/takes with spread heal and such. But with chambers gone in 8v8...well they can cast stuff like every 4-5 seconds (big whoop). Overall the 2 best casters IMO are Darks SM's and RM's. Runemaster for the damage and Spiritmaster for the utility. Check out http://daoc.catacombs.com and look for the character builder 2.0, this will allow you to see how different specs will turn out.

Okay well I checked out the site you listed and decided that a 47dark/26supp/5summ Spirit Master might be a fun build. I would be mostly be RvR'ing with him. If there's anything wrong with this might you tell me? Thanks!

Also, with darkness you get a few mezz spells right? Well is that mostly what i'd be doing or would I be on the offence a bit as well? Thanks again.

I am not a spiritmaster person tbh. Infact I only have 1 cloth caster, but from what I have seen from alot of my guild and clusters those that DO play SM's have a spec near that. Mostly for the life tap mixed with Mastery of Concentration (sp?). And having also been on the otherside of the mezz+MOC LT I can say with works rather well. Also your pet will intercept ALOT of incoming melee attacks. I am not sure if putting 26 points into Supp is going to really give you anything worth while but I am probably wrong. Do you know of VNboards? If so try to ask in the midgard mystic forum. There you will find almost every answer you have about spec and templates and everything else. Also try the SM forum on the above website with the char builder. If you do not know Vnboards try this.

http://vnboards.ign.com

Look into Dark age class boards, then Mid Mystic boards....I suggest also checking the camelot herald and looking into realm abilities when you are thinking about creating a new toon so you can find one that goes along the lines of what you want for end game.
