The benchmark needs better error codesFollow

This probably ought to go to the official forums but I'm too lazy to log in there.

The ARR benchmark is throwing an error on my laptop. I know that the error is probably the benchmark's way of saying "...the **** are you trying to run this on a 2 year old business laptop?!" but it is a string of unintelligible memory access code violations.

There, I've criticized SE.

Ah yea i wanted to ask something about the benchmark. Should it be in windowed mode? I mean i put my settings all high and resolution at 1920x1080 and instead of being at full screen it goes into windowed mode. That happens in any resolution i may pick, so that's why i am asking if its always in windowed mode or i am doing something wrong.

It's always windowed.

That's the primary reason you don't see performance boosts from SLI/Crossfire as those require fullscreen mode

Hmm, that's a shame. Any reason they are doing it that way?I mean i have seen other benchmarks that go full screen, that's why i thought it was strange.

The benchmark is just supposed to verify whether your system is capable of running the game or not and give you a rough estimate of how well it can perform. If you're running with an SLI/Crossfire setup, you already know it can handle the game.

Probably best to wait til beta phase 4 and tweak with the full screen settings then.

I had issues at first running it as well on my laptop. I had to run the DX9 install twice before it started working.
