Ostia is referring to the surge of info that was released that he refuses to acknowledge because it wasn't satisfactory to him.

The target release date is most likely tentative and subject to change at any time.

Meanwhile you refuse to acknowledge that it didn't happen when Yoshida said it would. It was eventually released, but it wasn't the "flood" of info, it was mostly reiteration of info we've had before.

But that was last year, past is the past.

I really like how this is shaping up! Initially I was very concened about the big gap between phases, but after seeing everything that's going to be added in I can see why it would take a little extra time.

I'm also really glad he brought up PS3 again. I know he's mentioned it several times already, but it's like if I don't keep seeing it, I get really nervous that it won't happen. I'm hoping the PS3 collector's edition has some neato stuffs.

I often ponder if they will release it again without its PS3 counterpart... id appreciate it if they didnt thats for sure... i could play on me comp. but im choosing not to for some odd reason...

Seems like all the games I want are coming out after ARR. I've been keeping myself busy in FFX doing a SCC with Lulu for the first time in between writing.

Simple, some of the stuff released was simply info slipped in the live letters, while this was pretty much a Press release.

It was late summer, but it was summer when he started letting the info out. Here's the issue as things went down though.

His PR department told him that it was better to release a 'flood' of info than simply droplets. All they had really to present in E-3 was the TEASER trailer, not even the full End of an Era trailer. So, he waited until he had collected enough PR related info to do a live letter with, which he did, along with the relaunch of the new.

Also keep in mind that some of the info released was regarding End of an Era, not the trailer, but the circumstances of the end.

Now, a flood up to your ankles is still a flood, and September is still summer. But neither of these were satisfactory to a lot of people. That was all hushed when the End of an Era Trailer was released. Only ones still citing 'the flood' as a negative are those who've been and will continue to be consistently negative even after the game has successfully launched.

It made for a decent press release. I wasn't all that happy myself, but I saw the purpose for it. Next time it would be better for them not to quote the PR guys exactly.

Edit:

as far as him riposting 'current' info: He said it himself - not everyone was there or was following it.

Some people only read the forum. Some follow some other forums. Others read gaming websites. Others still will read all of the above.

I see nothing wrong with bringing a general consensus post to the official forum so that there is no mis-information. Now we know, from the horse's mouth, what is goin on for real, not what some journalist said.

You forget, that at that time, nobody cared about end of an era trailer, it was not hushed, we wanted GAMEPLAY video, and we had to leak it ourself because SE where to much of a scary cat to put themselves the video Smiley: lol Also most of the information, was information and screenshots that we already had 6 months prior to the annoucement of the "Flood"... All the flood was, was 3 interviews repeated over and over. Is it information ? Yes, is it a FLOOD ? Not really.

Chimera is a dragon, a lion, and... a goat? What exactly does goat bring to the table? Garbage eating? Ill-temperament?

Robert Graves suggests,[10] "The Chimera was, apparently, a calendar-symbol of the tripartite year, of which the seasonal emblems were lion, goat, and serpent."

Goats have enormous ********** maybe it counteracts the cowardice of the lion?

I've never seen a goat with horns like that, but they look cool anyway.

Some goats have some truly odd horns... 4H club ftw! (well, they made us burn the damn things off but other people at the stock shows had goats with horns that won ribbons, so I never understood that part)

While I live in Nebraska and definitely know my way around livestock, goats aren't terribly popular here. Mostly cattle and hogs. Nothing like a bacon cheeseburger to get the mouth watering.

You are lucky. While most of my games are Fall releases, for summer, I have quite a few too >.>

Actually it is a flood of information.. Just a flood of the same information over and over again! LOLz nah, I jest. I think we have to keep in mind that Yoshi says alot without being mindful of PR hence the red lazer they always have to use during the live letters to keep him from saying stuff. So although he plans to release a flood of information the PR say "Nuuuh!" Fact I think he as stated in several places he always has to appologize to the PR people because he lets things fly that arent supposed to be confirmed yet. SE has become incredibly strict when it comes to releasing information untill right on the heels of it happening.. Probably because of the infamous FFXIII Versus they let us know about but hasnt been released YET, tho they told u how many years ago? Lol, I think this caused them to be more butt tight about releasing information untill it is beyond more than certain that what they say is actually coming to pass. I could be wrong tho.. Sometimes SE does things just because that's what SE does(for no good reason at all).. lol..

On another note though.. Its kind of silly to complain about a flood of information not being what you expected.. Some people are just nitpicking to death everything SE does. I still think people are taking gaming way to seriously. if you have invested much into SE and they have done you wrong then just stop buying there stuff lol. If you like them then thats cool too. No reason for the heated debates and name calling etc I see in the different forums. I'm sure SE likes all the PR they can get the good bad and ugly LOL. As long as people are talking about them they love th light. Wait a min.. Kinda like a troll!??! SE is trolling us all! lol, kidding.

Why are people complaining about last year, when so much more info was released in recent months?

Because they are attempting to use it as an argumentative point that Yoshi will reneg on his promise and/or fail to deliver. They have a situation in which they weren't happy with him and point to it going "See! See here! He's bad because of this!" They want to scandalize something inconsequential in an attempt to invalidate something offered in promise.

Politics does this all the time, and apparently we're to the point in gaming that every game and developer is subject to the same level of over-reactive scrutiny.

True that! And man, I really wish I could say something that would be really, really funny! Hmm, how to do it without outwardly pissing anyone off...

"I agree! And, I think it's totally stupid that Yoshi-P is getting {????}'d over such a trivial thing from last year."
