Okay! I got a chance to play off and on (more so On) for the better part of the day and I gotta tell you..I'm a bit bored..
Combat, even at 20+ with a subjob is very stale. Still limited by that damned GCD which makes melee (more so than casters) very slow feeling and limited. I feel like the classes are very 'pigeon-holed' and there's little to no room for customization. It's going to end up being 'these class combinations work' and if you're not built that was, specifically- then you suck. Oh, and targeting still sucks!
I'm having more fun on my THM/conj than I did on my Glad/pug (low level pug for evasion bonus..big difference in dungeons) but I think that's only because I can burn through mobs 2-3 levels above me, faster than my glad could mobs that were his level (which is to expected)
As a side note, while the landscape and scenary is absolutely breath-taking, many of the textures are complete garbage! Watching some cut scenes and I'm seeing gigantic pixelation on a computer that scored over 9k on the benchmark..that's pretty dissapoiting. (Tried uploading a very specific example but it's not working..)
And I know this all sounds completely negative and I don't mean to come off as a total whiner but with as many MMOs that have been released in the last decade you'd think some of these more simplier concepts would be refined and tuned for the audience. I just don't know if this game has the depth for the hardcore players and even more so the hardcore critics- every MMO is compared to the likes of WoW these days. And while we can complain about WoW ten ways till Sunday. .they had new and innovative things that no one had done before, they also had an end-game experience that was more popular than any prior..And while anything past Vanilla WoW wasn't my cup of tea, I have to give it's due.
I want this game to suceed as much, if not more than most of you, perhaps thats why I'm so critical..
