Not bad at all. I'm looking into getting a gaming laptop, this gives me a rough idea of what to expect.

Are you sure that was on Maximum settings and at 1920x1080? It might be at 720p. My video card benches quite a bit higher than the 560 Ti and I'm only getting 8400 at 1080p. I don't think the memory would have that much of an effect on my score XD.

Also, It seems like I am getting higher scores with this benchmark than the previous one. They must have really streamlined the graphics engine :D

Silver, what video card do you have? If it's the 7870 would you mind running the bench @ 1920x1080 maxxed? We have pretty much the same hardware, only difference being I have the FX-6300. I hate being stuck at work Smiley: frown

I think you can run it in any resolution in Windowed mode, at least you could in the previous benchmark.

Turkey, I don't think you have SLI enabled. You should have double the VRAM (~6GB) listed if it were. I have SLI 470s, and it shows NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470(VRAM 4049 MB) in my results. Each card has 2GB VRAM. Check your NVidia settings, I know my SLI gets disabled after EVERY driver update.

The original benchmark did not show the combined RAM from the two GPUs, but the new benchmark did.

Also my FPS was much higher than before, but that could just be optimizations in the P4 benchmark/client.
#20 Aug 01 2013 at 1:51 PM Rating: Good
OK, SLI is supported! I enabled the Show SLI Visual Indicator in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

I wish the benchmark had V-sync, I get some screen tearing while watching the benchmark.

I was wondering.. If V-sync is on is there an increase in performance since the fps is capped or is it unnoticeable?

I had the same tearing problem, are you using an NVIDIA card? What I did was add FFXIV to the Program Settings page in the NVIDIA Control Panel, under Manage 3D Settings, and set Vertical Sync to ON. This totally removed all screen tearing. I am using a 120hz monitor and the tearing was pretty bad.

I also enabled FXAA in that panel to reduce jaggies even more.

Also, that depends on your definition of performance.

For me with V-sync OFF in the NVIDIA Control Panel, I scored 10,600 in the benchmark with avg 95 FPS.

With v-sync ON, I scored 7,400 with an avg FPS of 60. However, it appeared to me as the user to be MUCH MUCH smoother and fluid.

So with vsync on you will score lower in the benchmark, but may have a better user experience.

I have an AMD card. I set V-sync to always on in catalyst control center and also turned on OpenGL tripple buffering but neither fixes the issue with the benchmark. I don't have any issues with tearing in games since they always have a V-sync option.
