If I'm tanking the lowbie dungeons, I'll ask "Quick or full?" and default to the latter, unless I get the "One or more people are new..." message, in which case I'll just do full.

Except in Toto-rak, where I'll always do a quick run without bothering to ask because, seriously, **** that place.

Toto-Rak ARR annoys me. Toto-Rak 1.x though..I loved cuz doing multiple runs you can actually switch which end boss you did.

Awesome trailer.

Is it weird that the thing I'm looking forward to most is to walk up to random NPCs and challenge them to Triple Triad? It's like FF8 all over again, finding new and increasingly less appropriate places to play card games.

I hope we get to bet cards like in ff8, so whoever wins gets to pick a card to keep. Also, i hope we can play against each other. I think making it a little competitive in this way would make it more interesting.

Cool. I spent an insane amount of time playing Triple Triad in FF8.

For some reason I keep reading it as 'Before the Fail'. Keep thinking it'll involve time travel and send us back to Eorzea prior to 1.0. SE has really got these trailers down pat, they always renew my interest.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong in my assumption, in fact I hope I am.
But with FFXIV in general and with this trailer it seems all about the instanced battles. I wonder if there will be new zones added that allow for exploration, gathering and some interesting side quests to kind of you know... Immerse you? Again, I hope that ends up being the case.

Thing is new zones will most likely be coming in the expansion.

Problem with adding new zones, they can add a few quests, few fates, leves, GC Leves, NPCs, villages but content wise it will be limited because each zone doesn't really have a mass amount of content. Instances is pretty much where the heavy content lies.

Yes it would be nice for a new zone or two but you have to think about the rewards and as mentioned above a lot of other stuff for an area that you may only spend an hour a month in.

I do get a sense they are giving us a lot of content this year and I am happy to pay for an expansion as long as their general updates don't slack behind. I am also excited to see what they are bringing us this year, ST has not been out for long compared to CT before hand and here they are giving us another one.
The only frustrating thing I get is having to unlock so much before I get access to my dailies ;)

As for the "Grind" to get better gear because our current gear is outdated, again I am happy with that because I like better stats for my chars and the current best gear in the game still remains very solid gear on the next update. So really, everyone is happy, well mostly.

And the preliminary notes added.
