Concept: A themed monthly screenshot thread.Follow

Was thinking during the downtime, we often share our accomplishments criticism, complaints, and discussions in this community, but not often do we get to litterally see the game through each other's eyes.

So I got to thinking, why don't we have a monthly screenshot thread to share our distilled moments with one another and give a more tactile sense of how one another's game is?

Here's the idea in full:

Starting February, at the beginning of each month, I start a thread with a specific theme in mind. Then, whenever the moment strikes you to meet or answer the theme, people snap a screenshot and share it on the thread with us. It can be a direct link, or, if you're lucky enough to have premium, have a preview right up and ready for people. We can also use the thread for discussions of screenshots and the situation, or even for a bit of fun humor.

Then, if we want, at the end of each month, we can nominate our favorites of the month's batch. Not really a competition, but a review of what was shared.

Let me know what you guys think below. If I feel I've got enough people behind it, I'll start making the threads Febuary first. I've already got a theme in mind.

I'd be interested. I love taking screenshots.

I think we had similar thinking last night during maintenance. I combed through about a thousand screenshots and made a tumblr with the best of them as a project.

Anybody else? I'd hate it to just be Catwho and Hyrist photo time. I'd have to get inventive on the photos.

... that wouldn't be a good idea.

I'll play along. Screenshots are always fun.

(It's kind of weird though. For some reason I've taken relatively few FFXIV SSs even though I took thousands in FFXI over the years.)

Wish I could, but I've got no idea now to upload a screenshot from the PS4.

Stick a FAT32/exFAT formatted USB Drive into an empty port and find the gallery your XIV images are stored in, I imagine.

Can also take screenshots, share them to your facebook, save image as onto your computer and then rehost them if you don't want your FB profile created.

PS4 is Social Media friendly.

Oye. I have made it a point my entire life to avoid facebook. Facebook destroys lives.

And crushes souls. BUT, it can be used as an image transfer program fairly harmlessly. Just never give out your facebook profile and put it under your alias.

PS4 is easy..
To take a picture:
You push the button just too the left of the touch pad (share) which opens a screen with a menu, it tells you if you want to save it as a video or screenshot. Save as a screen shot ( I think you hit the triangle button)

To copy it.
When you are out of the game:

There is in the main ps4 menu a menu option for screenshots or pictures or something like that, hard to miss but I forget exactly what is says.. In there you can manage your pics, delete but it also allow you copy to a usb drive.. You might be able to get here by just hitting the share button again too.. I tthink there are several ways of getting there.

To turn off the menus for a pic hit the upper left front bumper and push down on the touch pad.

Thansk for the info guys, I'll try it out. I have a ton of stuff saved (without the menus off unfortunately) but just figured it would be a good read one day long into the future when they finally pull the plug.

A little late to the thread, but I'd love to participate in a screenshot thread.

Ok. I think I got enough initial interest to give this a shot for February. I'm actually going to like this.

Hint on this comming month's theme?

I discovered a great view in Eastern Thanalan, up on the ridge over the church (with the single quest gravesite), looking down on Drybone. But the light was all wrong. There's a great shot to be taken from there, but not on that day.
