So, what did I miss so far?Follow

I played for years, but took a long sabbatical (relatively speaking) of about 10 months. But I'm getting that itch again, so I decided to try EQII again, see what's changed, see if I can get that old feeling of joy again when I play.

So, what's changed in the last ten months?

Let's see. The revamps of Qeynos and Freeport, Skyshrine (Velious continued), the announcement of the next expansion.

Dungeon Maker, Mercenaries, Tradeskill Apprentices.

Hm, what else?

Age of Discovery introduced Beastlords along with what Calthine mentioned above. Then GU63 brought us Withered Lands (overlands) and Skyshrine (heroic and raid) and raised the level cap to 92 (if you have 280 AA).

Hmm, only other things I can think of is that Freeport and Qeynos both got revamped and have new quests that range through level 80 (well, the quests scale to level, but they'll unlock at 20, 40, 60, 80).

I was around for the beastlord and the Freeport revamp, I liked the new Freeport. I sort of like the Qeynos revamp, what I've seen from it so far anyway. It's going to take some time to get to lvl 92, I had 296 AA's when I last played, came back and got four more, no idea why though :D

But at 300 now, so I'm not complaining. I think I'll need the last expansion, Age of Discovery, to get the extra 20 AA's, but no idea why I would want those. I noticed there are prestige AA's now too? Do I need that last expansion for those or are those obtained in a special way?

Thanks for the info!

You got the extra AAs because they flattened the "hell levels" in AAs (100, 150, 200, etc). That granted extra experience.. I ended up going from ~295AA to 320AA on my main, for example.

You get prestige AAs automatically every 20% through levels 91 and 92. So you get your first point at 91.2, second point at 91.4 and so on. That shouldn't require Age of Discovery as far as I know.
