Hi all.
Great site! I'm new to LOTRO (just started this week) and so far I'm amazed at how good the game is. It's a beautiful game and the scenery is amazing. I've found myself stopping several times just to look around at everything.
I have some MMO experience, but with only one game, City of Heroes. I've been playing CoH for going on four years now and felt it was finally time to give another online game a try. Since I love the Lord of the Ring books and movies I figured this might be a good match.
After playing only a couple of days I already see a lot of conceptual differences in how the two games play. In fact, it was a little overwhelming at first. But I'm taking that as a positive. I have a lot to learn and a lot to keep me busy.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Hope to see you all in-game :)

Thank you, Tovin. I know exactly what you mean. In college I always had a lot of free time, more than I ever imagined I ever did at the time (if only I'd known just how good I had it!). Now that I have a "real" job, I really have to struggle to find time to play. Usually weekends and an occasional hour or two on selected weeknights.

Hello and welcome to LOTRO.
This is a great game and i have played it since closed beta 2 while also playing City of Heroes. Although City of heroes wasn't my first MMO it is probably the one i played the longest (since 2004). Triumph and Freedom server respectively. Good to see more people from different MMO's coming over. I will admit i found the same shock and awe when i first started playing this game as well. It took some time to get into a slower pace game again since COH can be very fast paced especially the pvp, but i was able to find my rhythm.
I play on Windfola server currently under the name Ethelbryt. Although i left the game after i hit 50 because i didnt really feel the game was complete although it is partly my own fault because i seemingly rush so much. Also there were minor bug annoyances that bothered me enough to take a break.
I look forward to seeing you in game and hope you enjoy your experience.
