and the game has already broken on me

"General error accessing your account information. Try again later, and contact tech support if the problem persists"

This is after only a couple of hours play on the trial, I'm not exactly impressed.

Does this kind of thing happen often or should I put it down to a freak coincidence...

Same here.. me and my friend downloaded the trial yesterday... and suddenly are both getting this error at the same time.

Anyone knows whats going on? or if the servers are completely down?
Also seems like the official forums has just gone down also.

Yes, looks like everything is down right now. I've been playing since open beta and this really doesn't happen that much, only a few times that I can remember.

I can't blame your frustration; having just tried the game and then it goes down :(

could just be an occasional server crash that we unfortunately are experiencing?

Went to check out my account information - it was wrong. I updated it back to what it has been and tried to re-log but it is obviously down. The weird thing was that my account information - my credit card was not in there - and the expiration date completely wrong. Both my husband and I had the same problem. Not sure what has happened - weird - I have never had a problem in playing this game - I LOVE IT!!!!

You might check out your info - it seems maybe that was the problem....

Very unusual. I know you're in the UK so this is a Codemasters issue, not Turbine.

I've had a few issues with my Codemasters accounts yesterday and today. Give it a while SWM and it should be OK

I can only assume it's because all the Codemasters guys are hungover from a weekend on the lash at Connect 08. Smiley: tongue

I've only been playing for a few months, but the four of these I've seen (Troll/Ranger session play fix, new book, forum update, someotherbugfix) have been resolved within 24 hours.

Typical outages are about 30 minutes to an hour because they're more likely to disable a bugged feature than they are to keep the entire game shut down, but I've seen major patches (like the "new book" stuff) take somewhere between half a day and a day (no real count because it was a weekday).

So far, I've been nothing but pleased.

Hey Nobby, it was because of your review that I decided to give this a go. I did actually download the US trial as I hadnt realsied at the time that there was an EU version...guess that will teach me, looks like im a victim of bad timing and signed up on one of the few occasions that the servers were down. However I hope that you guys realised that for a new person to the game that this didnt look very good at all. In my defence there was no announcement regarding service issues at the time, Im not normally one to moan about outage but I was concerned about whether this was a regular thing or not as that would be a major factor influencing whether I continued to give it a chance or not. Anyway Smiley: thumbsup for the red arrows whoever that was, greens ones all round from me.

Yeah it's a pain in the ***** but In my expereience, very unusual.

In over a year I've only experienced 2 unplanned outages - the rest were scheduled upgrades or fixes announced well in advance.

Anywho, once you're in, get on Meneldor server and we'll give you a leg-up :-)

And Green Arrows back atcha
