Been on for 20 mins (server just came down)

Forochel

Beautifully rendered and nice environmentals - snow (like High Pass) and Lossoth skating and sledding across the frozen water.
Moose, Sabretooth and Wolverines are cool. Mammoths very impressive.

Frost effects are pretty nasty - at lvl 50 I ran 10 paces across a spit of sea water and lost 50% morale Smiley: frown

Fishing
Gorgeous animation effects.
Skilled up to 12/200 Fishing Skills (Apprentice Fisherman - Go Me!) Think 12 skill-points per day is maximum.
Caught about 20 Goldsish, 10 Minnows and 2 Bitterlings (+ weeds, 'balls of goo' and rusty daggers)
Even in that short time, caught 2 trophy fish to take to taxidermist. Smiley: grin

Other stuff
Summoning Horse made me laugh out loud. You now whistle your horse - not a super-cool manly whistle, but the sort of crappy whistle your Grandad used to do. Beautiful! Smiley: lol

Bajillions of rep quests in Forochel.

New Quest window is chock-full of filters and options.
LFF also more sophisticated.

Initial impression: 11/10! Smiley: waycool

Forochel is now my favorite zone. A mob that Nobby didn't mention, but I thoroughly enjoyed, was the little demon frosties that attack you from every direction (or so it seems) 0_0

I also love the voice-overs for the npcs, its very....Ice-landish.

Yeah. Methinks some lucky Devs have been factfinding in Finland - loads of Finnish NPC names and the place-names back it up.

Just awesome.

No no and no, Book 13 introduced a new variant of the horse, the new mount is yet to be revealed. This info coming from dev. posts over the last few months.

But I do think that this is the first mount used by mobs....darn wolf people.

Thanx Nobby!

There ya go getting me so worked up about seeing Forochel, that I spend all day downloading Roheryn, and then installing it to find that the server is broken.

Dammit! I want my 6.65GBof bandwidth back right now!! Smiley: bah

It's a shaggy horse, looks a bit like a Shetland Pony. Seriously cute

This photo doesn't do it justice:

Having been lucky enough in real life to see the shimmering beauty of the Aurora Borealis, this is wonderful. The whole colour-shift is hypnotic.
