ok, im an old RTS player who wanted to start playin more MMO's, just askin if there are any free-to-play private servers on SWG and if so, how to use them

i googled and found a few but dont know how to use them
they lied.. there are no private servers, there are a number of people trying to build emulators, but none are running, and you'll have to wait a few years for them in any case. so the answer is still a pretty solid NO.

The only MMO I can think of with fully operating private servers is Ultima Online.
and RF and ragnarok and wow just off the top of my head

errr there are private servers infact http://www.warez-bb.org/viewtopic.php?t=1100007 that took me 2 minets to find caus im sure there are private servers for any/every MMO

ok, i have seen at least 2 sites by now whish "say" we can play for free but yet u guys keep saying i can't, is there something wrong with em?
I was under the impression that while there were emulators under construction none were fully functional so its possible that some development servers are up and running.
I would try this site as it has some listings.

kk thanks, i have never played before so i wouldnt notice if anythings missing ^^
search all you like, you will not find any working private game servers. regardless of whatever claims certain websites might make, the truth is there are none. of all the emulators, swgemu is probably the most developed, and its still years away from a workable standard, if you can't afford to play online games, then chances are your probably not old enough to.

dont forget buying clothes for the kids too, being a parent is expensive, which is why we both work for a living...
if i like a game i pay for it, the last thing i'd do is try to cheat the people who made it by not paying. particularly after all the work the devs have put in, getting SWG back on its feet again.
i found a working free server.. it does me no good as i have allready paid for 6 months but here you go i dont know if this breaks any rules but if it does im sure a mod can delete link

That site says "plans that we have" and "reserve your name"....it's not up and running. We have discussed this many times here....I have showed that hardware it takes http://swg.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=16;mid=1197610937253459199;num=8;page=1 , and the time it takes to reverse engineer the code....don't get me wrong there are some very talented hacker and crackers out there, but it will take alot of time and they have real jobs to boot. They have been working I think it's about 3 years....p server will only come out if SOE release the source code....have your fun....you might even find what you are looking for, but it won't be SWG.

well, i found one and have been nice and happy playing on it for about 10 days without paying subscription fee... check it out here

swgemu is still years away from workability, nor do i beleive for one minute that they actually have the hardware needed. Nice try Tahalos but your credibility just sank even lower than it already was.
From what I gather they do have a development server running from time to time, its not the whole game or for that matter anywhere near finished they do have the basics running (as I recall earlier in the year they held a PvP event that a lot of people really liked).
I have spoken to several friends that have tried them and while I wouldn't drop a real account to use it I think that for people that want to try the game out or can't afford the real thing its a great idea.
