New Jedi. Need HelpFollow

#1 Apr 25 2008 at 10:34 AM Rating: Decent
I just respeced from Smuggler to Jedi once I hit lvl 90. I reached 90 in less than 3 months thanks to my guild leader who is a pre-NGE player, but since he has never had a Jedi toon, and I am still fairly new to the game I am pretty much in the dark about how to become a strong Jedi. I am thinking I made a mistake by not just creating an entirely new toon. I have created a 4th gen 1 handed LS, and have "Robes of the Storm Caller", but am unsure of how to proceed from this point. I am on the Valcyn server, which is sparsly populated and help is hard to come by. I have heard rumors of two LS that are looted off 90+ elites(Old Republic LS and Jinsu Razor), but would be impossible for me and a guild member to complete on our own. What is the best aproach to take in order to become stronger? Are there quests I can do to get better Cloaks? Is it still possible to get the Elder Jedi Robes post-NGE? I allocated my path points to be a light Jedi since I am Rebel, what is a good general setup? I know this is a lot of questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I am feeling over whelmed. Thanks in advance.

you have a lot of work in front of you LOL :P

Right theres the OR LS the 2 handed is looted from SK, and the one handed i believe is HK,

The jinsu is looted from the emps hand in restuss.

You will also be needing a Jedi Master Cloak. This is also looted from HK i beleive.

I think it will take more than 2 of you to do any of them things.

And both OR'S and the JMC are random loots as well jsut to add insult to injury, so they don't drop every time.

hello. I am from valcyn also.

currently lightside jedi are more powerful than darkside but that is going to change it might already be on test center but darkside is gonna be brought up to par.

right now lightside jedi stack up on defense like block powerups, parry, or glancing blow increase. this makes them real tuff to beat.

i know jedi who don't buff up a whole lot but are still hard to beat. these ones use cloak effectively which pisses alot of ppl off but i don't care. the whole goal is not to die anyway, at least from a spy point of view.

they use cloak in combination with saber block and force run, they know when to time things and that just comes from experience. the best way to learn how to pvp is go out there and get your *** beat and after a while you get better and start kicking ***.

if your lucky you could be in a guild that duels alot thats a good way to learn to but IMO the best way is just go pvp and don't worry about dying at first- you have to learn somehow.

most on valcyn are pretty cool like they'll give you a /bow when you loose. we just like to see any rebel with balls to go on the battlefield because currently on valcyn it is imp dominated. If I kill you with my spy and you don't hate tell me I usually let you be after 1 kill unless its a group PvP forming. Or I will reveal myself on your radar and if you come at me we fight again. Stealth ganks just get old sometimes.

we definately need more SF rebs tho and our server would be fun again. hate to see you leave smuggler. You may have been lied to and told smuggler was not good for PvP, which they can be very good but is a difficult prof to get down, and our smugglers seem inactive right now. We had some way killer ones tho in PvP. Your either really good at smuggler or really bad- theres not much in between.

Thanks for the help guys. Jerok, I am a member of the Guild SEVEN, you may know Hobbs, he seems to know almost everyone on our server. My gamer tag is Singin. We are a small guild at the moment, but we are rebel. I have never PVPed, not sure if he does either but I doubt it. I switched Professions because I usually like to tank with MMORPGs, and I have heard that Jedi's are the best with the right equipment, and specials. Hopefully it wont take me too long to figure out this profession. Thanks again.

yea no problem. i was rebel on valcyn but then i went imp a couple years ago because there were more rebs to fight than imps but now its opposite but i'm imp for good i guess even tho theres too many of us now.

doesn't mean anything to me tho i hav reb friends on and off the pvp battlefield. welcome to valcyn get those rebs to goto restuss and pvp some lol. if ther were some pvp rebs we could hav us a fun server again.,. PVE is cool and all but pvp is where the real fun begins

i am Zirzo of valcyn so say hello if u want on ther

thanks for the rate up but i think my info is dated as of the last "game update" now theres alot of sht IDK about i guess like the dark jedis are already being cried about to get nerfed or something but i managed to kill one but it wasn't quite 1vs1 but so goes the life of a 'doshan spy

at least they hav some other prof (dark jed) to cry nerf on and are no longer crying nerf on my prof (spy) those station.com ***** pansies lol

yea i hav seen hobbs b4 but not in a very long time. he probly has never seen me because i play my toon 95% of the time invisible lol
