So ive been slowly building this deck up for fun and I recently got to play it last night in two 4 player free for all matches. I won both matches but only because I got lucky the second game.

Boomerang x2
Isochron Scepter x4
Mystic Tutor x2
Rewind x3
Thawing Glaciers x4
Moonring Island x2
Palinchron x3
Ghastlord of Fugue x2
Seal of Removal x3
Reconstruction x1
Turn to Mist x4
Mana Leak x2
Counterspell x3
Time Bomb x3
Tinker x2
Quicksilver Fountain x1
Tolarian Academy x1
Anthroplasm x3
Sand Silos x1
Island x13

After playtesting I can already tell that i need to remove my anthroplasms, and a few more islands, find a good card drawing combo, and make some kind of way to untap my isochron scepters.

Also I am thinking about adding 1 more quicksilver fountain as that is pretty helpful against most decks. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any advise from you guys???

Edit:Autocard is down on their website so i have to wait before i can link.

I doubt there are many people here who know what all of those cards are by heart and are too lazy to look them up (myself included). Go to the forums on magicthegathering.com and try to get help there.

Personally in any counterspell deck I like to have Arcane Laboratory. It really eases things up for you. It will work especially well if you put one of your boomerangs to the scepter so you can return it on your turn or the end of theirs.

Anthroplasm out sounds like a good idea. Maybe replace it with vedalken shackles? Sensei's Divining Top would also be a pretty good include because: turn 1 play, you can tinker it, it's amazing.

Then maybe some random rares like Cryptic Command if you have them, but they're used heavily in standard and kinda pricey.

Capsize is amazing. Especially when you have this card too (a combo that was a staple of my old capsize deck).

Capsize is nice but I would have to run the combo vataro pointed out to make it more efficient then boomerang with an isochron scepter.

Since im already relying on the scepters to hold my opponents at bay im looking for some good card draw and some way to untap the scepters at will.

When posting decks it helps to post it in a format that looks like this:

Spells:
Stone Rain X4
Pillage X4
Ice storm X4
Creaping mold X4

Earthquake X2

Land:
Tiaga X4
Karplusian Forest X4
Strip mine X1
Forest X7
Mountain X8

And it plays as nastily as it looks too.

It is possible to get a turn 1 land lock with that deck.

Oh I know how nasty land control decks can be.
I used to use avalanche riders a lot.
Still, I reckon adding Anhk of Mishra and Dingus Egg to that deck would make it very fun.

There's always the voltaic key. And Urza's Library to draw cards although that one is inefficient as being too costly and you have to tap it to use it.

Funny you mention those keys. I forgot about them until this morning and im bidding on 4 on ebay right now.
#16 May 23 2008 at 11:52 PM Rating: Decent
Should have said Urza's Blueprints. With the 6 cost and echo, it's very expensive though.

Always preferred my green deck, but did create one blue artifact deck back when I was still playing. Too unreliable to be all that good, but when the cards came right, very fun deck to play with.
(with two Tularian academy's, 18 islands, 3 lotus petals, three voltaic keys, 3 grim monoliths, 3 thran dynamo's, 2 mind over matter, 2 capsize, 4 counterspells, 2 tinker, 2 argivian restoration, 2 Urza's blueprints, 2 Mishra's helix, 3 metalworker, 2 copper gnomes, 2 colossus of Sardia, 2 phyrexian walker, 1 Teeka's dragon, 1 Xanthic statue, 1 Karn silver golem and one phyrexian colossus. Mostly just fun to play with)

My blue deck with those keys will give me that edge im looking for to untap stuff but im still searching for some endless card draw. I think i need to locate some pemins aura and some merfolks or something.

Howling mines are always fun, even if it helps the other person too

Of course, if you're playing a discard deck or even just a capsize deck, howling mine could hurt them if they're drawing too fast and you keep putting stuff bac in their hands Smiley: grin.

Won my ebay auction so should be getting my cards soon!!

I've also come to the conclusion that I have way to many magic cards. I finally got almost all of them in binders and well I have filled a 2 inch binder to the brim, and 3 1 inch Binders to the brim.

Toooo many cards.....

Its over 2000 cards.

I know its not that much but i go through phases where i buy a lot then dont play for like 2 years then buy a lot to catch up and then dont paly for a few years and repeat.
#23 May 25 2008 at 12:47 AM Rating: Good
I've put all the commons and uncommons in one large box, the easiest way. Only the rares and shinies are in a binder, the ones that aren't in decks that is.

They build up fast, especially if you're like me and can get carried away with trying to get a lot of the good rares. (not by trading alone, by buying a lot of boxes) The main reason I quit, it just gets too expensive.

#24 May 25 2008 at 6:17 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah but ive learned that some players will pay some decent cash for certain rares that I may never use. So I tend to sell some rares that I just wont build decks with or have more then 4 copies of.

Smiley: lol i have a box of lands that amount to more than that... I counted up last night.

I have 7x 3inch binders + 9x 1 inch of magic, my wife has 5x 3 inch and 4x 1 inch.

we also have 2x 3 inch of of the old Wheel of time game and another one of the Cyberpunk one, plus 10 or so shoeboxes of various commons, land and other games we tried like Legend of the 5 rings and doomtown.

Doomtown rocked btw.
