So as the title says: I want to play this game; the problem is that I've heard a couple of things about the game which idk to be true. Is the game really dying? (I heard this next rumor in another MMO and it sounded silly...) Is it true that the game hasn't really gone live and when it does, your original characters will be wiped out? Finally, Idk much about computers, so I want to ask if someone can tell me if my computer is strong enough to play this game AND how well will the game perform with it and it's graphics card.

Computer: Compaq CQ5320Y
Speqs: AMD Athlon™ II 240 dual-core processor, 3GB DDR3 SDRAM, double-layer DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with LightScribe labeling, 500GB hard drive.

Graphics card: ATI Radeon 4350 (512mb)

Sorry for the long post and thank you!

Point-by-point:

The game isn't dying any more than FFXI is dying (in fact significantly less so)
The game is entirely live and has been for several months now during which time we've received a couple of decent content patches
Your computer looks like it's good enough to run the game, if you'd like a decent utility for checking that sort of thing though try this one: http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/ I've found it to be pretty accurate

Thanks a lot for your help! You were really helpful. I quit playing FFXI about a year ago, so I'm not sure how bad it is lol. I'm definitely trying this game out; thanks again!

This game is growing not dying. It won't be dying for at least 5-6 years my estimate.

The specs on your system will play the game. To answer your question , the games population has dropped alot and honestly needs server merges. This is expected in a PVP style game though.

Depends on the server, really. On Fregion we are seeing 2nd and 3rd gen alts getting into the 40's and, by all I am seeing, Fregion is alive and well. Yes, we did lose some of the top players recently, but most of those that left were the ones that botted to 50 and when NCSoft banned the account they botted on they took all their accounts off and left. Good riddance.

I am new to Aion on a regular basis. It is a great game, play wise, graphics. PCGamer gave it a good review and perdicts that it will be around for a long time.

I like it.
