All right, what can I do with my Alligator friend? He won't kill things for me. He won't protect me. Exactly what do I do with it?

Doesn't it give you a strength buff or something?
I remember using it to take the first critical hit of tough mobs, as long as you don't taunt it the mob will go for the low level pet once you body pull.

yeah, the pet only keeps you company and buffs you. it's a Familiar
