Wizards or alchemists are going to be the most popular up through the levels for their AoEs in power levels, but once you get to 60 they take a back seat to petters(Necromancers and magicians) because people will throw 3 in a group and have them sit afk while they pull and loot a insta spawn mob over and over.

Tanks really aren't that sought after any more, through the levels many have taken to tanking lower leveled mobs with a healer or melee class tanking instead of the old style of 2 DDs, a tank, and a healer grinding on higher level mobs. Tanks of course are still big for raids but there's already established main tanks with maxed class mastery points.

Bards or enchanters are always wanted as mana batteries, as are shamans and clerics for their buffs. As for other DDs a monk has good offense and defense and are never not wanted, rangers are also not bad in the damage department if buolt right and they also get a decent enough tick heal that they can cast on others and stacks with a bards heals for a great grouping combo. Rogues on the other hand are probably the least popular as they don't have much defense and their damage is primarily in bursts which isn't the best for a grind.

I would recommend against picking a class based on just what is most likely to get groups, I got a wizard to 60 with a bunch of PLs and I am bored sick of it in grinding, but I love playing my bard or ranger, or my new monk which I've been ploobing with hunt and gather quests for the past few days :/

Ahh i gotcha, Well i LOVE pet classes, so i will give each a shot, Necromancers are more my speed with the heals and dots and such. I have made a ranger as well it seems fun, bards have always been neat as well... lol i always do this when i start a new game, just try everything out see what i like then i roll with it but i spend more time playing different stuff than i do to get to max level

I think you show a lack of initiative by asking to chose a class to make others happy to group with you.

Make a class that you will have fun playing, finding groups isn't that difficult once you get to know a few people, but chose a class you will enjoy and start your own groups.

tanks are all but obsolete in groups now a days.
DD can always be handy in groups
depending on the groups, alot have pets tanking now, or melees tanking and can use a bard to tank and heal the group (just an example) so chose what you want to play and you can always make it work with minimul effort.

pishaw rogues damage in burst. They destroy with their burst damage and while they wait for that to come back they still do good. As for their "low defense", well, I always try to kill first.

p.s. it doesn't matter what melee you make if you're dd grouping :3 I came back to this game dualboxing with a friend who's on a bard, he tanks (or tries to) and I kill. And if I pull argo we lol because we're killing whites or lower and they hardly do any damage anyway :303
