People sometimes tell me that I should write something about myself so new people who don't know me can get an idea of who I am. I don't like to write self-bios, but since it probably should be done, it can't be helped. I will semi-evade by focusing more on general background and philosophy of play rather than personal details or specifics.

For TERA, I’ve decided to adopt the name Chimeko, which evolved from the alias cnpchime meaning roughly "perfect princess." So lame that I love it, I guess. I'm also the founder of Team Localization which plans to play under that name for the first time for TERA. It's actually a reference and in-joke about the Westernization process of Asian games, sometimes called Localization, but many people just end up asking if I'm part of the translation team or something. As a multi-genre gamer with a mostly Eastern gaming background and appreciator of competitive play, I dedicate my efforts toward what I feel is the most rewarding form of progression: self and team improvement.

Pursuing higher potential through human conflict is exciting for me. My personal strategy to advancing level of play involves developing an understanding of game mechanics, game flow theory, analyzing evolution of trends, human psychology, and training different physical and mental skills. Experience is also critical, and I feel that what effort you commit relates to what results you get. Essentially, paying attention to the whole picture, not just numbers and formulas in a spreadsheet.

In the past, I've always preferred to be a low profile player, the type that doesn't really get involved with the community aside from their own team... mostly keeping to myself, but working hard to reach the top, sometimes even top 1-10. This time around with TERA though, I feel like trying something different, and being more active about participating in the community. Why am I writing articles here at ZAM? Well, I end up discussing games non-stop internally within my circles anyways, there's no reason not to share, and maybe I can make a difference by influencing more cool stuff to happen.
