Post Your PvP Videos! (was forum=10)Follow

#1 Jul 27 2010 at 4:40 AM Rating: Sub-Default
I thought it would be cool to start a thread where people can show off their skills in PvP. All MMO PvP videos are welcome, not just FF. I am really looking forward to seeing what the PvP will like in FFXIV Online.

I feel that there are some really good MMO PvP vids out there. Here is an example of me playing an MMO called Age of Conan. This game takes more skill than most MMO's on the market as far as melee combat is concerned. If you are good enough then you can kill players that are 5-10 levels about you or even more. In this video I use a character that is only level 20 (level 80 is the cap) and I go around killing other players in world PvP.
Lets get some other PvP videos in this thread and lets keep it constructive as well. Thanks.
Enjoy =)

Meh, while I understand why it was moved to this forum, I'd say this is the worst place for it. =/

Well, goes to show PVPing and FFXI forums Allakhazam's FFXI forum users don't mix. Even the mods go out of their way to send a thread about videos of PVPing in FFXI all the way out to this barren, deserted forum.

It's from AoC.

This thread was off topic for =10, but I think the point that OmegaTyrant was getting at is that it didn't even matter. I noticed it when posting in the FFXIV forum some time ago, but the mere mention of pvp seems to throw most mooglefudgers into a frothing tizzy.

Probably because pvp in ffxi is the most frustrating thing ever conceived. Not being able to change gear in a game that has virtually no fulltime gear is some dumb ****.

Can't change gear ever, or just not while in combat?

From what I recall, you get paralyzed for 5 seconds when you change armor/weapons

Mainly to keep people from swapping so much they are untargetable.

What bard said. It's not really that big a deal for melees, but it completely cripples mages. We pretty much always swap 10+ pieces of gear for every single spell, and have fairly little gear that is useful for all/most of our spells, and even then, we have to use different weapons for each element spell, so even if you're just nuking, the recasts on spells are too long to just cast one element, so you're stuck not using a weapon for half your nukes (and they give a +15/25% damage increase too).

Reroll World of Warcrack, equip PvE gear for mobs and PvP gear for players. Ezmode. You can't change your clothes in combat (a shame, since being able to strip naked would surely confuse your opponent), but you can change your weapons.

No, people have shared opinions about that game, but having to equip entire sets of gear just to cast different spells sounds like crap. And paralyzed for changing gear sounds like crap as well.

Wut? How does changing gear render players untargetable? Game mechanics or do you mean that the players get so confused that they lose track of their target?

In FFXI, when gear is changed the character model disappears momentarily (1-2 sec) to update the new gear on the character.
