The Debate of My ReturnFollow

I have been away from LOTRO for quite some time. I was in the beta, and I played off and on when I had time. Well, I also got Moria xpac, but didnt really play alot after.

I am back, but facing a decision: my old characters are still here, 34 CPT, 31 Warden, 20 Minstrel, some other alts. I kinda want to start again, see the story, and get back into it. (especially with warden, heh).

Just debating on whether or not to try and pick up where I left off, or just start again. I know a number of things have changed, so I think it might warrant a restart.

Those with experience are welcome to give input or advice! Glad to be back in Middle Earth! :D

Hey, also returning player here, and from what I gathered on the offical forums when a simular question was asked was to indeed start anew to become familer once more as so much has changed. But to be sure to log in to your old toons to also check out what has been changed for them as well.

For the life of me I cannot find that particular thread as I was going to include it in this one for possible further and better information.

After that long the only way that makes sense is to start over. If for no other reason, to truly play a class well, the best way is to learn it from the ground up as you earn new skills. You incorporate each new skill into your hotbars and learn how it fits with what you already know. There is really no substitute for that learning.

This is the MAIN reason I object to folks buying a maxed-out toon that they did not raise, other than it being cheating and against the EULA. They totally fail at the bone-deep understanding of how their skills work and work together. You can always spot them in a group as they will use only a couple skills and have no clue as to the greater subtleties of their class.
