Thoughts on the Handling of Servers Being DownFollow

I've been taking this well personally, I haven't tried to contact SOE once on the issue since the servers went down. That won't do any good. "Naylie" (the person handling the EQOA Facebook/Twitter/SOE Forum updates) is going to continue being 'politically correct' taking a professional stance, thus always being brief and rather vague as to not be 'wrong' or confusing. I understand SOE's handling of the community and why they've been the way that they have. Many people have been practically 'living' on the Facebook/Twitter page (now the official forums because they're back) asking for updates every 5 minutes. It's not surprising and some of us would expect that, but those kind of personalities have also been chatting up the TSR's and submitting tickets constantly. Again, that won't do any good and I completely understand SOE's handling of the community.

However, the line was drawn for me when I noticed the in-game messages were apparently changed, and I indeed verified that they were. The in-game server log message clearly states "5/17/2011 Welcome Back Adventures!". It even goes into detail about what they've decided to do for us. An NPC will be handing out "gifts" in Freeport and the Luck Quest now properly works. With the new information we have now, a vague date of Friday has been determined. This is astonishing, disappointing and miscalculated. The in-game message update even had me thinking the servers would be back, not only today, but within a matter of minutes. There may of been some uneasiness, or lack of coordination between the few people working on restoring EQOA. Nonetheless and whatever the case, after being the only game not restored, and the only game without a clearly outlined "Make Good Plan" on the SOE site, I found this to be very troubling and concerning.

I deeply hope the product is still taken seriously enough by the devs and players alike, and subscriptions will continue to be made by costumers.

Yes, that is true. I probably could of worded that more properly. I just said "vague date of Friday". In other words server restoration apparently occurring between now and then.

sup - yeah that original KV Raid we did could of went better lolz..

Almost killed Aeyinar a couple days before the servers went down.. Only had about 5 or 6 people on her and we were all by ourselves. Can't wait to give it another go. We've really grown and organized ourselves well, especially for raids. It would really be a shame if the downtime turned everyone from the guild off to the game.

It's not actually the same guild as the one you and I were in.. I guess the old one was disbanded by some 13 year old that was getting banned or something.. but anyway a bunch of cool peeps broke off and made another guild that absolutely exploded. It's awesome imo..
