I was able to demo out it out in SF a while ago during Alpha, and I liked what I saw. It was similar to other RTS games but had a MUCH greater focus on combat instead of base-building. Whether or not that's your cup of tea...? Personally, I found that it meant combat was a lot more hectic and tactics were build up on the fly, as opposed to engaging in 30+ minutes if planning. It was fun.
Hopefully my editor will let me cover a bit of the Beta, as I did it enjoy it back in the conference (even though it was only an hour or two). Granted, I suck at RTS games against real players
