Self Healing (Solo play)Follow

Sometimes there's no one around to team-up with. So how do you heal in battle and out? I know of, healing pots, and bandages. What else is there? Also as far as items go, can you link them so we can have a quick look? Tips welcomed.

Warriors dont really need healing in combat and they dont really have any way to do it either. at higher levels you can fight 2-3 mobs of your level and still survive, depends on your skill tough. anyway you should have no trouble downing a singe mob. Potions can be used in cases of emergency and also there is a little trick if you are in trouble: you can use intimidating shout and use a bandage while the mobs are feared (you can almost apply the whole of it as the fear lasts 8 seconds)
As for out of combat healing bandages and food will do. (cooking is nice to have, aswell as first aid).

agreed. I pull the shout and bandage trick when I need to. Just remember to stop attacking before you shout, as any swing at your enemy will bring it out of fear.

The Shout + bandage, sounds like a nice trick. Right now I use Pots, if things get bad. But I am only lvl 26. Just recently decided to take WAR to 70. I plan on PvPing a lot. So I am looking for some tactics to stay alive in times of soloing. Helps in grinding also.

I read Shout of Command gives a small heal also. But I am also looking for trinkets and what not, I can work on earning as I lvl up. Lock's Healthstones seem helpful also.

Do you only use Plate past lvl 40 to minimize damage taken?

The best thing u can do is to get some item that gives u health after u kill a mob. I use something called Infused Mushroom that restores 200 health after i kill a mob or player. Plus im fury so i spam BloodThirst a lot, that alone keeps my health up. Combine these 2 things plus the occassional fear+bandage (if u in combat) and u should do fine.

Is Engineering helpful to you? I am just starting out in the profession. So far the stun bombs and various devices seem helpful. I am LvL 156, atm. If your HL or master, amd a warrior, does it help you?

Is it just a bad idea, to go anywhere near certain classes? Should I just stay away from Priests, Mages, and Paladins.

I invested some points into prot so that i could have last stand. Great ability when you need some quick hp. There is also a def trinket out of helfire penn that will give you hp in a pinch.

I bought Ankh of life on the Ah it is quite useful when i am losing even though the health restored is quite small i have managed to survive a few fights and stop the healer dieing a few times it was a good buy for 10g i think

I myself would prefer to get uther's strength, which is like a priest's bubble... Down side is that you wont generate rage when getting hit
Up side is that you wont get hurt :]

Engineering is currently 100% worthless at higher levels.

If you want a profession to level, pick Blacksmithing. Once you get towards the later levels you can craft some insanely good epic weapons or armor that are only available to Smiths.

if you have an open trinket slot and 10g to kiss goodbye the ankh is okay.

imho it's worthless. the level 32 leather belt heals for twice as much.

Well, the OP mentioned pvping a bit, so why not go for the Arathi Basin trinket? 3 minute cooldown for a good priest-type bubble, as opposed to (or possibly with) Uther's Strength, which iirc has a random low chance of proccing.

Talisman of Arathor, lvl 28
Talisman of Arathor, lvl 38
Talisman of Arathor, lvl 48
Talisman of Arathor, lvl 58

Getting food that provides Well-Fed buffs also adds to your stamina (as well as refilling your health). Consider it a form of mild pre-healing.
