FFXI connection issueFollow

Hello,

I've recently been having a connection issue with FFXI. In game, I get a simple r0 and a disconnect, throwing up error #4001. After being DC'd this way I can no longer reconnect to POL for sometime. The time it takes before I can reconnect is variable, but most times I give up for the evening and come back the next day and everything is fine.

I checked the above sticky and found out that #4001 is:

"UDP ports are being blocked. Change your firewall, or contact your internet service provider to get this fixed. "

So I tried opening the ports on the firewall (I dont know much about this so I'm not even sure if i did it right), I tried disabling my firewalls (the one on my router and the one installed on my PC) and then connecting but to no avail.

I spoke to my ISP and they said this was a SE issue, they denied blocking any ports, they said they dont block anyones ports, ever.

So, before I lose any more of my money/mind on the phone I thought I would ask you guys for help^^

Random misc info:

When I leave POL to connect after a while I get a #0006 error telling me to check network settings etc.

This problem only happens in the evenings, and is most days. The problem has only started happening in the last few weeks however.

Everything else, with regard to the internet, seems to work fine.

I am on a broadband connection and I connect through a wireless (belkin) router.


Well, thats all the information that might be relevant that I can think of right now. If anyone needs any more info I'll be checking this post fairly regularly so I should be able to respond quickly.
