Hello.
I own a MacBook Pro and have been experiencing weird noises during start up and use. They sound as if they were clicking noises, and the sound appears to be coming from around the power button.

Is there anybody that might know the cause of this? Or how I could fix it?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

The only thing I can think of which is positioned in the top left corner of your machine would be your Fan.

Your best option if you are comfortable tearing your laptop apart you can look at this website to see how to do it.

iFixit Guide

I would remove your fan and do a visual inspection of the fan itself and also your case. It's very rare that Mac fans go bad because they use some pretty expensive ones (On my old Powerbook G4 Ti they cost $60 each).

Hope that helps,

Thank you for your reply, Bijiont.

I had a friend take my computer apart (not much of a computer person myself) and sure enough, it was the fan.

No Problem, you must have got one of the rare ones that have gone bad. Glad you are getting it fixed, and that I could be of help.

It's very rare for Mac related hardware to go bad especially fans. Have owned Macs all my life and the only time I have ever had a fan go out on me was my old Ti Powerbook I had for 5 years finally throw a fan. My old old iBook clamshell 333Mhz model still has all fans in working order after all these years.

Apple hardware from my experience tends not to go bad that fast, not even fans.
