Buffer Overflows are pretty common however can also be used to gain access to your system. Read up what Symantec has to say about them in the link I sent then also Google some information if your curious. Your best option is to block/ban that IP address and all other IP address which this comes across on.
Make sure to run a 3rd party virii scan such as housecall.trendmicro.com to make sure you are safe as well. Some virii are actually programmed to fly under the radar so to speak on certain software such as norton.
