FFXI in widescreen?Follow

Not so much as a "hack" than just a simple modification.

First, go to Start > Run, type "regedit". The configuration for FFXI is stored in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI

The screen resolution is defined in values 0001 and 0002 of the registry key. Value 0001 representing the width of the screen and value 0002 representing the height of the screen.

Now just simply put in the resolution of preference.

EDIT: I should add, make sure the bass is in decimal and not hexadecimal.

Right where you normally change the resolution is where I found multiple widescreen resolutions.

Also, are you sure you mean 1440 x 990 and not 1440 x 900? The first is not a 16:10 ratio.

Just make sure you remember to set your ingame ratio to 16:10.

Either way, I'd go with the regedit.exe solution and change 0001 to 1440, 0002 to 900, 0003 to 1440, and 0004 to 900.

If you want to get an AA effect, you can double the numbers for 0003 and 0004. (Remember to be in decimal mode for all these values.)
